Anyone see any orange 45th anniversary Supras on the road?

Nope, the story has remained the same. Have you ever read of a Toyota or Lexus with a leak in a new vehicle that was not reported anywhere in a forum? Does that mean that the leak doesn't exist?
Does anyone here who has commented have 20 years of experience repairing BMWs and their diffs?

Actually, yes. Have owned BMWs for 25 years and still own an 02 m3 and an e90 diesel. My little shop (i own) has worked on Bmws for 25 years. The Diffs are quite stout, and we have only changed fluid. We are going to swap out my Supra diff this month but that is due to abuse and race car things.

I still think that’s the best/quickest solution. My son had a fender bender. Parts was “unavailable” due to national shortages. It was going to take a LONG time to fix. I got online, ordered the part, body shop completed the install.

I got the run around at my local dealer when I 1st got my Supra. I didn’t listen to everyone on here but it was in the back of my mind. Another delay came up with them. I got my keys back (thank gawd) & realized times have changed. Just like you said. I now enjoy my car - servicing it somewhere else.

One positive dealership side note: my wife’s 2019 VW GTi, local dealership changed the battery under warranty. Pretty impressive in today’s times. But that’s as far as I’m going to push my luck at any big box that isn’t allowed to think outside that box. The old ways don’t work anymore.

I spoke to two shop owners, yesterday. One has a BMW-specific shop that's been around for many years. The other rebuilds ZF transmissions. Both told me that they cannot cross-reference Supra - installed seal and tool part numbers. The repair shop guy said that he would not install a BMW-sourced seal, not knowing that it an exact duplicate of the one that is in the Supra. Essentially, nether guy recommended that I bring my car there, especially while under warranty.
I did start a separate thread (diff leak) for this issue, weeks ago. It's probably better to keep this thread about the Mikan Blast 45th in general. We're kind of going off on a tangent.
My plan is to see if the dealership tech can:
Thoroughly clean the diff.
Check the fluid level/add if necessary.
Drive my car on the highway for at least 15 minutes.
Put the car back on the lift and check for leakage origination.

Jesus krist. Same parts. It’s a 100% bmw diff. Anyone that has actually worked on one knows it has the same part number. I can even show you where the part number is on the physical unit but I don’t think you really care. Those guys are blowing smoke up your ass.

At this point you are so blind to the people actually try to help you. It’s worthless to continue to even try.

It looks like you are having a particularly shit ownership experience and quite honestly, I feel for you mate, it's a shit situation to be in - Ask me how I know.

What is giving me conniptions though is that you keep making excuses for Toyota and the dealership - This isn't your fault, it's Toyota's and/or the dealership's ineptitude and carelessness. It's an unpopular opinion but I agree that having a dealership diagnose and rectify warranty issues is the correct course of action but when they fuck you over with excuses, you need to call it.

I have no experience with these sorts of leaks or BMWs in general but if I bought a new car and instead of it being in my garage it was at the dealership waiting for parts, I'd be losing my shit.. and certainly not talking about how awesome Toyota is and pretending they give a shit.

The responses in this (and your other thread) from people who know a lot more than me seem reasonable and worth investigating. I think you may have jumped the gun a bit on the problem and maybe panicked. I get it - It's a brand new car and it cost a lot of money. In a perfect world, Toyota and the dealership should care and be all over it.. but sadly this isn't the world we live in.

I do hope it gets sorted but for the love of everything holy, please stop singing Toyota/the dealer's praises for dragging their feet rectifying a problem of their own creation.

We can all be acerbic at times, especially when someone won't get out of their own way. Ignore Razor at your ownership peril. He is a wealth of data and info.

THE SUPRA DIFF IS A BMW PART- full stop. IT HAS BMW STAMPED ON IT. Your Toyota shop are morons.

1- You can drive and enjoy your Supra- because it probably isn't leaking. AND IF IT IS you will get rear diff errors before it blows up.

2- Stick to your narrow minded Engineering protocol and let them keep aimlessly guess and swap parts and make stuff up. Clearly they are not qualified.

3- Lemon law- buy a Prius (more your style anyway)

4- take it to a good Indy shop.

Everything can be cross-referenced and numbers confirmed in under an hour if someone actually cares enough to do it. So they either are not willing to put the effort in, or aren't intelligent enough to think outside the box and ask the right kind of questions in the first place. It's probably a good amount of both.

The last shop I called did look up the part numbers using my VIN number. He did so within 5 minutes. They are available to him, locally. It looks like he'll be the one who gets my business.

I think it's more of a gloss versus Satin. Definitely not Matte

Due to a fuck up in shipping, only three of my four new Advan GT Premium wheels were the correct model and color. The fourth wheel was a Beyond in Hyper Black. They also completely forgot my center caps, which I also ordered.

So for the moment, only my rears are on. Goal achieved though - a very early 2000’s Fast and the Furious/track look. Oddly with just the rears on, especially with the steamroller 305/35’s it just looks like it’s running drag radials.

I can’t wait to have all four wheels on though.

I also purchased a Street Hunter wing. Debating on actually going through with the wing change, it’s just sitting in the garage waiting for me to get my game plan together.

With how this car currently looks, I find it hilarious that people assume it’s owned by a 20 year old male and instead a 41 yer old female. I’ve just always admired JDM cars and more extreme and bold car looks, but generally I’ve gone for more reserved things for myself.

Hell, I’m really debating on getting a Sayber CF hood too, because I missed my window during the A80 heyday living in the world of LS’s and Terminators.
