Hate to be a little late to the party, but I don’t know if this is just my experience, the sound system still sounds like dog with the EQ and subwoofer mod. Could this possibly be because of a revision to the sound system on the newer cars?
It depends on your expectations. In my MY23 with the JBL premium sound system I found the mod to be a relatively minor but worthwhile upgrade. The improvement was largely around improving the bass and reducing some distortion/strange resonances it could cause on occasion. The improvement wasn't earth shattering but it did eradicate the aforementioned resonances and while not very deep, the bass sounds relatively good to my ears. I'm not particularly into window shaking bass of course, so your expectations my be different.

My complaint - even after the Tadda mod - is that the mid-range is still quite muddy. This is likely a speaker or amp limitation so fixing this would probably mean going all in which I really can't be bothered with at the moment. And just to be clear, almost any proper aftermarket system (not BAVSound) will leave the stock Supra system for dead - my relatively inexpensive decade old custom Focal setup in my other car does just this! As it stands, the JBL package coupled with the Tadda mod is what I would call the low end of acceptable. If you want better, you're probably going to need to apply some real time and money.

Worth doing this on the base model without JBL?
I have the same question for my '24. Anyone try with the base model without JBL?
We don't have the same EQ setting options as the premium. ?

That’s why you need a downpipe + AWE touring exhaust and just always keep the windows down!

Finally got around to doing this and man... if you're still on the fence about it just go ahead and do it.

However, I think I kinda still prefer surround ON. I keep going back and forth

Did this as well, it does make the bass a bit cleaner, previously bass distortion happened a little below 50% volume, now it’s happens around 2/3 highest volume. Still has rattles though :(

Did you do the foam and acoustic wadding too?

I've been able to play songs I previously wasn't due to obscene rattling. I don't get anything now at near intolerable levels of volume

Yes I did. I’m wondering if it’s the subwoofer grills.

Has anyone found a trunk liner that has a shorter back wall height that would still allow for round ports?

for example the weather tech clearly would cover them, unless I made rectangular cutouts, no chance of that coming out nicely lol

I just trimmed my WT liner and installed a screen in my ports to avoid objects rolling into the sub cavity.
This mod is a must do if you don't want to upgrade your entire system. Bass response is much improved. Just be sure to Dynamat the entire rear compartment to lower the chances of rattles.

Doesn’t look bad with the trimming, thanks for sharing!

The JDM Toyota Supra mat works.
I didn’t even know this thing existed lol, I like it, been thinking how I can secure stuff from sliding around and this appears to do that. Not sure it’s as good as weather tech as far as protecting from a spill of something.
Thanks for posting this I’ll look into this more

The mat is actually "spill proof" and seems water resistant to the touch. Also, it has a small lip around it to contain spills. While I haven't spilled anything on it yet, I'm pretty confident it will work as advertised based on its feel. Also, the netting points are standard on our cars in Australia and the net is a stock Toyota Supra net (nothing to do with mat underneath, FYI).
