Wheel hop - what more can I do?

I have a MY23 MT. I've never experienced wheel hop.. maybe I'm not driving it hard enough? ?

I have driven a completely stock 24 MT (not my car) and there was no wheel hop.

My 24 MT on full coilovers, 275 RE71RS square, 32-35psi tyre pressure, no wheel alignment done, no wheel hop.

So you're saying I need to drop $4k on the KW full coilover kit with DDC that I've had my eyes on?? Twist my arm.....

Hate to state the obvious, but maybe take it to a good suspension shop instead of taking a 4 year engineering course while you try to sort this out yourself.

Nah this is honestly the best reply so far I gotta admit.

The engineer in me is just stubborn but I'll likely go this route as I'm getting close to being defeated.

Video footage of the wheel hop. You can see at the end of the power slide while still maintaining some wheel spin the rear end violently starts shuddering. VSC is fully deactivated. Tires are at 32psi. Ambient air temps were around 63f.

I have a drift event in 3 weeks that I am considering cancelling until I can figure this out ?

That almost seems like you have a bent wheel. Something is definitely screwed up beyond air pressure.

Interestingly you say this - I just got my new rims in today from Apex so that variable will be ruled out as soon as I get some tires mounted on em

Serious question, why not reach out to race shops that specifically cater to building drift cars? Someone like Seems Legit Garage would probably know the most direct way to address the issue. You definitely wouldn't be the first person to ask them how to fix wheel hop on a BMW chassis.

If they say you need something wacky like a Ford rear end swap, well so be it. It would be up to you to decide if the juice is worth the squeeze. But at least you would have a definitive answer.

Chiming in with 24 MT. Never experienced wheel hop with either my stock wheels and tires or my BC Forged wheels on 305s.

I drive fairly spirited.

Not a bad idea. I did reach out to Verkline - they said they will be escalating the question to the appropriate people but I haven't heard back yet. I'll probably reach out to a few other shops.
