Thanks for the tip!

I just read the Amazon reviews. I am glad this has worked out for you, but there are TOO many negative reviews about peeling clearcoats and other permanent damage for me to risk it. I'd like to keep my "baby" perfect forever, but I know that is practically impossible. I'll be able to sleep better at night knowing that the rock that bounces just right and does damage wasn't necessarily my fault, but if I did any damage to my "baby" with a product like this, I would drive myself insane with guilt and remorse.
You could try some 3m Blue painters tape as well. I bet you that anyone with damage or peeling clearcoats probably had paint work done after the factory (with our without them knowing)

That is exactly what I was thinking about, too, about work being done. I also noticed that waxing the car is recommended first, and I would bet those who had damage did not do that. I also got to thinking that there are a lot of variables that could have affected people's experiences, like outside heat and humidity and the length of time they left the PPF on the car.

I’ve never heard of short filling oil on cars intentionally. The recommended amount has done just fine the last 20 years.

Definitely don’t do it on older turbo VWs, lol.

You will not need any oil on the drive home. Enjoy the first drive.

I just don't see the reasoning behind shorting the vehicle oil for any reason. Just dump 7 quarts of oil in and call it done. I've done this every oil change I've done on the car since 8xxx miles and never had an issue

Thought process is not every single drop off oil comes out when draining it.

This. Seriously. If you are this worried about 6.8, 6.9, 6.5, whatever quarts then I can’t imagine the stress of literally everything in life. Put in 7 and be done. It really is that simple.

"put 6.9 quarts." NAHHH lets put 6 LOL! OP definitely needs to rethink his car choice and just find a car with a dipstick

I wouldn't recommend short filling the car. If you are uncomfortable with overfilling, just put the exact specified amount in, which is 6.5 Liters/6.9 Quarts.

2026 Supra is the same as 2021-2025.

Modern engines are already broken in from the factory. The suggested break in period is for everything else (brakes, clutches, etc) and to make sure if anything goes wrong, it's when you aren't pushing the car. It's basically lawyer copy.

However, there is no shame in going by the book and "breaking it in" as the manual suggests.

For built engines that aren't broken in, the best is to vary rpm, lots of decel to get the engine into vacuum, then some throttle, rinse and repeat. This helps accelerate the piston rings breaking in and sealing correctly.
Where details are not given, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Follow the book and you and your car will be fine. I decided before I bought my new Supra that after reading pages of comments from people here, many saying they drove from the dealership to a racetrack to beat the heck out their cars, that I would never buy used unless I knew the previous owner well. Yes, purposely-built racing engines are dynoed at high loads/rpms, but those engines aren't expected to last 100,000+ miles, either.

There are a couple of great PPFs, such as EXpel and STEK. I 've had 2/3 or my car protected with STEK PPF for 15 months. Without it, I'm sure I'd have more than few chip voids in the number and hood.
Toyota will change my oil/oil filter for two years. After that, I may do my own changes as I have done with other cars since 1980. Oil analysis will reveal how well factory oil is doing.
Commend you both for reading all that from OP.

I drove mine a couple hundred miles to my nearest track, broke her in there and then changed the oil after that. She’s been purrrrrrrring ? ever since.

I am KING of "unnecessary explaining" LOL (more unnecessary explaining here) Sorry for that, I do get that it can be annoying.

Thank you... that is very detailed. Just the way I like it. Curious, the levels you show there talk about liters and quarts. Is 78MM supposed to say "add a quart" or add a liter? I now wonder if my scan tool is going to show me the oil level in MM's?

I already have my deposit down and I am 1st in line for the 2026 that is coming into the dealership. It has hit PORT already too. I'm super excited. I've been shopping and searching vigorously since November of last year. The 2025 I had reserved (deposit down) apparently got damaged at port and was delayed by over a month. I was/am 2nd in line for that one. It's going to be a LONG drive home, but the way I see it is that I will take my time, enjoy the scenery, break it in the best way I can, and when I get home it will be "broken in" so any freinds and family I take out to show them my new car I can give the a non-holds test ride!
I love driving mine. I don't even notice as the miles go by.
