Two of my supra track buddies will disagree. One had a 3RS and moved to a supra, one has a 3RS and a Supra.
If you notice, I said "has much overlap" not "has no overlap" ;)

I know multiple people who have GT3's and Supra's both together or separately also. My point is the general crowd of people who are buying AND tracking a 3RS doesn't always pay a bunch of attention to the Supra.

It also requires generally more mods (but obviously way less money) to get a Supra to a 3RS level.

Both are great cars. At the end of the day if you offered me the keys to both I'd still take a 3RS 😆

This is a much better comparison as they are both strut front, and as a reminder, the MK5 Supra development used a Cayman as a benchmark.

So, since you brought it up, VERY few GT4's are anywhere close to Supra times at my local track.

Gearing in the GT4 is also ass.
The gearing you mention is what kept me from pursuing a 981 GT4. I owned a 981 GTS with the PDK and was able to keep up (until the straights) with a 982 GT4 manual. The PDK gearing and shift times made my car faster everywhere except straights. The owner of the GT4 went out and bought a 982 GT4 PDK after, then eventually a 3RS and his first comment was how much better the gearing was in that car vs the GT4.

I'd say the 981 GTS I owned was the better car. The Supra is faster given the power and general capabilities. Overall performance of the Supra, even in stock form is very hard to ignore given the price tag.

We get it, you track cars. I don't understand how you can be in my DMs wanting advice on bypassing Safelites recalibration fees, but then turn around and be passive aggressive towards me on the forums.

Which is it, man.

@razorlab - FWIW, the first morning session of Gridlife was under muffled sound restrictions at LRP. I ran my Valvetronic exhaust with the valves closed and received no complaints. There may or may not have been some leeway given the event, but they definitely did have signs up during that session about noise and GL advertised that session as muffled.

That's a good data point thanks. Now that I am running no cat, the car is loud enough for me (and also still doesn't trip sound) so I'm not really pursuing a catback anymore. Only issue now is that it smells like garbage while driving and my clothes smell like garbage after driving.

I know you hate catless downpipes so what made you switch?

My catted downpipe cracked and I haven't had the time to source a welder to fix it. I already had a catless DP laying around so I just threw it on. Now I like the way the car sounds (I hated it at first) so I will keep it on for as long as I can stand dealing with the smell. Which might not be much longer. haahha.

You can even notice in my recent video how much louder it is, and you can even hear the turbo more. Mic is in the trunk next to the battery.

how U keeping oil temps so low i duno.... mine (also 2019yr) even with external verus oil cooler goes to 140C on hot days. My temps r high, 2 faster supras that r 600+ hp and on slicks also cook oil. And then is my friend, stock car, oil no more than 125C. But well, hes like 86 slow compared to me...

I did 1000w fan upgr, will see if it helps...

What turbo do you have? A lot of the temperature is going to come from how efficient your turbo is and how hard you are pushing it.

The fan also doesn’t run at speed. It will help with cool down if you come to a stop or are below whatever the mph is for full off, but at track speed it’s not going to help.

I just did a day here where it was 88-91F or 32-33C and my coolant temp was pretty solid at 90C and oil temp never went over 125C.

The cool down time for the HX is higher than I’d expect so I do think a better one will happen eventually. I was surprised oil stayed that low, but there also wasn’t a ton of traffic so I did have clean air.

Surprisingly I never felt like the car needed me to shift it. It was pretty much always in the right gear and the few times I felt it was too high I would start laying into the throttle and the rear would gracefully start rotating, proving that was the right gear after all.

It actually weights airflow effectiveness up to 75 mph. Meaning, if the coolant isn't at target even at up to 75mph of airflow, it keeps the fan running.

Custom hybrid turbo, sth pure-like pure600. What could be improved here?
Lets say i have "pure 600", would changing to sth like pure800/900 help coz bigger and less boost for same power?

You might be able to make 500 whp on 91 octane...
I'm 450whp restricted in my class ( i run 445whp atm), all i want is less heat, esp into oil.

Anyway driving with 1000w fan atm car runs few C cooler, usual daily temps were 110-112C, now they are 105-107 so the fan is doing something... will see on the track
