Looking to purchase a PTB clutch soon, Just tossing up between the dual mass and single mass flywheel options, the car is daily driven and does several track events, and would like to know if theres any drawbacks to the single mass, I've had vehicles previously i've converted to single mass and its always been fine but curious if anyone has fitted the single mass and whats your thoughts on it compared to the stock flywheel.

I have dual sinter disc and can’t remember what flywheel but think it’s the dmf. It’s amazing. Here’s only pic I have if someone knows if dm or not.

I think you might need to define what "amazing" actually is with reference to a clutch. "Amazing" doesn't tell us much.

-I have the single mass with organic+sintered discs.
-it's very easy to use, for day to day driving and when you start to be more aggressive with it, boy does it perform.
-BUT! clutch chatter is pretty intense with the single mass and be prepared to upgrade/stiffen up suspension mounts as shudder is a problem, especially in reverse.
-for a completely stock car, maybe consider the dual mass with organic+organic

Perfect thanks for your response, this is exactly the kind of info I was after.

When you say shudder is a problem are you refering to initial take off?

I'm running the PTB single mass with organic+organic setup.

I don't track the car. I've heard a sinter setup (aka ceramic) should only be used if you track the car or else you'll end up frying the disc if you daily the car. (Fact checker @razorlab )
I daily drive mine Mon-Thurs, 84 mile round trip commute to work in socal and I have zero complaints. Here's my experience.
- Up shifts and down shifts catch faster compared to oem, biggest noticeable difference
- Clutch chatter isn't bad at all. I never hear it unless my windows are up, no music and my car is idle but again its really faint. If you have an exhaust/downpipe you will rarely hear it. If you want a quiet ride for comfort you should probably go dual mass
- Clutch feel compared to oem is the same if not better and lighter.

I'm on MHD E40 OTS map and this thing is scary now that it catches. Even with 315's in the rear hooking on daily tires is a struggle. So much fun, car is perfect for now...

I’m running PTB clutch organic+organic with single mass flywheel and standard pressure plate. Clutch feels like OEM+ or even better. If you’re going with single mass flywheel, the up and downshift catching faster also even when you rev the car, the RPM jumps faster very noticeably. you’ll barely hear the chatter when the car idle. I Daily drive the car and I tracked the car 6 times until now and haven’t noticed anything unusual. Almost one year with the clutch and no issues at all.

I would assume the revs drop faster as well so you have less rev hang?
