Post 2020 DME unlock with AutoTuner

Femtoes updated their site. Shipping vs autotuner is about the same? Wonder if they'll include tune options.

Autotuner is cheaper. They charge 140 Euro for shipping which covers both ways. You can also pay by credit card and not have to deal with wiring money. Their logistics are also nicer since they supply you with the outbound shipping label and you can easily schedule a DHL pickup.

With Femto the customer pays for their own shipping on the way there and it's 150 Euro that you can prepay for shipping back to you. So whatever you pay to get it to Femto is what makes it more expensive. IMO there's literally no reason to go with Femto anymore. Also like i3igpete said, they were holding back the full unlock and marking up the price due to their monopoly.

Sorry, meant does AutoTuner allow for bench unlocking if the DME gets locked after it’s been unlocked by them without having to send in again.

Same as everyone else. Took about 4 business days, shipped on the 14th from Canada and got it back on the 18th. They turned it around the day they got it. DHL didn't even try to charge me some bullshit made up duty charge either.

Took 7 days for me here in the US plus an import fee (like $40).

Adding my own experience to autotuner and can say they are great. The price for me was 461 usd with no additional added charges and turn around was exactly 5 days. They scheduled a house pickup on Monday and had it back to me the same time on Friday. Had it back in and tuned in under ten minutes.

I sent my 2023 ECU to Autotuner last week. DHL picked it up Monday afternoon. Autotuner received it Wednesday morning, unlocked it, and sent it back same day. DHL delivered the ECU to my door Friday afternoon.

I successfully tuned the ECU with MHD yesterday with no issues (other than the adapter being a pain to connect to).

Couple extra details:

I bought an Apache 2800 hard case from Harbor Freight for $30. ECU fits perfectly in it.
I wasn't charged any extra import or tariff fees on the return shipping.

Total cost was $461.


Overall really happy with the experience. Autotuner communicated via email and WhatsApp throughout the process. The turnaround time was really impressive.
