Stateside DME unlock for July 2020+

Thats how it worked overseas, could wait a few days for folks to guinea pig it and see what happens. Still cheaper and more convenient.

Actually, going through AT overseas is slightly cheaper than using the US mail in, even after factoring in duty fee. At least for me in Cali.

But I just saw that AT now reroutes US customers to their US Site only. I had the unlock in my shopping cart on their international site and it says it's no longer available and to use the US site.

I’m assuming this charge also covers return shipping. If not, then that sucks.

It does. It was slightly more to Europe, and it was for a DHL pickup from your house, to them, then back to you for that single shipping charge.

It does look like it's slightly more expensive to get done if next day shipping is required vs the cheaper overseas option. That said, after all is said and done, the timeline will be much shorter for basically $30 more. It took 9 days total for DHL to get the package from South Carolina to Europe and back and I definitely would have spent another $30 to have that shortened to 3 days.

They do give you a pen and an air freshener.

We need to thank the hacker that slipped in a sniffer when they had Femto unlock their DME. That was the game changer for us all.

That wasn't a bluff, they still offer it for $1,400.

My only worries with the AT unlock are potentially needing an AT tool for a re-unlock, as opposed to an MHD Unlocker or Mission M-Link, and losing my factory remote start on my M240i. AT couldn’t guarantee that it will work afterwards, while Femto said it will.

I still think this is a rumor that keeps getting perpetuated, just like people first thought you could only tune with AutoTuner tools. There is that one German dude on the BMW forum that keeps perpetuating this but when I pressed him to prove it, he couldn't.

That said, I ain't testing that rumor.

Per AT Website. "Next Day Air Shipping
Shipping is calculated at checkout and includes both directions at a discounted rate."

So yes, NDA only and return shipping is included.

If anyone is curious, shipping round trip to NC came out to $95. So $495 total for the unlock plus tuning software.
