Stateside DME unlock for July 2020+

I'd be happy to pay slightly more to keep my ECU in country. Maybe they'll offer cheaper shipping options in the future. Though I know AutoTuner prides themselves on rapid turnaround.

Perfect, for me the quote was like $137 (SoCal), I feel like that's a fair price for 2 way shipping Next Day Air.

Man. I’m waiting for an unlock here in SoCal. Once there’s one available within a 25 mile driving distance, I’m totally going to go and get unlocked.

One additional upside to domestic shipping that's not being mentioned is the ability to add insurance for a reasonable amount. It won't lower your shipping costs, but people were taking some risk sending DME overseas with a stated value of $50 for customs purposes....but if that package got lost, you'd be SOL. At least without worrying about customs, you can now declare actual value and insure it accordingly.... Knock on wood, doesn't sound like these things get lost or damaged in shipping often but that would be my luck!

Tell me why this man looks me dead in the eyes and says he’s “just gonna wait until they do a remote unlock.” Bruh its an ECU we’re not updating an iPhone.

Maybe the dude thinks it's like the newer BMWs where they have OTA updates and has some wishful thinking. I know a lot of folks get confused when vendors put in the disclaimer of "disable it or else your ECU will be relocked" and we don't have that...
I dunno, people are silly. Still funny nonetheless. If they wanted to get their car tuned, they would. Next to no excuse now.

This is my big issue. Can't even take advantage of the price drops because Cali smog and the Checksum checks.

For now, I'm still stuck with the JB4 life or at least until I become an AZ resident

FEMTO unlock since you know 100% you can unlock it after updates. Get ISTA and just update back to stock. You don't have to smog for six years anyway. How many cars have you kept for six years?

So enjoy the car unlocked until 2030.

Valid on the smog for 6 years. But I've also gotten state reffed on a previous vehicle. Did that stop me from modding the supra? Absolutely not but at least without the tune I don't have to go back to Toyota to reflash.

However, I absolutely did not know you could update it back to stock with ISTA. Guess I didn't do as much research as I thought I did! Actually 0 excuses then.
