Today, I should be receiving the OBDLink MX+ device for my Supra. However, I really don't know much as of what can I change by using the device and the app.

Please help me out. :)

I know the auto ON/OFF can be disabled and the brightness can be increased on the head unit during the day. Other than that, I have no clue. Between the device and the app is like $170. So I hope I can do more with it.

Thanks in advance and be well.

I have changed mine to start in Sport Mode and to shut off exhaust sound that plays through the speakers (seriously helps sound quality)

So far, I have changed the following...

-Auto on/off memory on (remembers last setting so I don't have to keep turning that stupid stuff off)
-Active Sound Design off (fake exhaust noise through speakers)
- Startup warning message off
-Passenger seat belt chime off
-Driver seat belt chime off
-Side view mirror tilt in reverse to 30% (makes it actually useful)

There's a whole ton of programming you can do. Change the seat heating temps, chime tones, etc, etc. Just do a little research and search the forum.

All in all, if you own a Supra, totally worth the $

How much is the device now? Was like $70 when i bought it. Just look at Carguy11's videos for what you can change. Personally i only did the active sound off, side mirror down to 30% and fixed my brightness on my screen.

Hello Dick,

So your Supra always starts in Sport mode? Is it always running on higher RPM then?

By the way. Shutting off the exhaust sound that plays through the speakers seriously helped the sound quality.

The OBDLink MX+ was $119.95 and the BimmerCode app was $38.99. Total $158.94. I'm hoping to get more coding done than what I know. I will check out the Carguy11 videos.

Thank you!

It just starts in sport mode - if I want it to go back to normal I can just hit the sport mode /normal mode toggle switch and it goes back to normal. I almost always drive in sport mode so i preferred it to start there without me having to hit the button every time I got into the car.

There are more options available by choosing "BMW Z4" than by choosing Supra. I can't actually say why this is true, but it is. The bottom entry in 'backups' is the first download and then its available to reset back to default. Its tricky, tho, trying to remember which backup did what beyond that.
