I'm writing to both catalog and potentially help someone in the future with this problem.
Around a month ago when driving with the windows down I heard a sound akin to a rock stuck in the tire when accelerating on a tighter on ramp. I go home, look everything over, nothing. I take the car out and realize I can reproduce the problem as slow as 15-20mph when putting a higher lateral load on the front tires. Its difficult to say but I'm fairly certain both sides are affected, perhaps left greater than right.
The car was fitted with Apex VS-5RS 19x9.5 & 19x11 on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Front 265/35-19 and Rear 305/30-19 just over 10 months ago. The remainder of the mods are likely non-contributory, but contain intake, downpipe, cat-back exhaust, and a JB4.
Toyota technician diagnosed the issue as a loose JB4 cable on the fender wall (I already had my reservations because I made damn sure those cables weren't loose) and charged me for $150 for a non-warranty issue. Get into the car and the problem is unchanged.
This time they allowed me to take the tech for a ride, easily and regularly reproducing the problem. After they looked at again, they have no idea and said "they have nothing to compare it to so it may be normal". They recommended putting the stock wheels back on.
And here we are now. I'm about to put the stock wheels on it at home and seeing if I can reproduce it again.
I'm already over this.
