I just installed this today and prior to that I was seeing smoke every time I drove. Doing a test drive today for about 30 minutes I haven't seen any smoke.

I did not use the a check valve for the oil cap breather and I do have the ccv connected.

Where were you getting smoke from before the catch can?

I was getting a lot of white smoke from the exhaust. I did have an Amazon catch can installed. As to why I was getting some, I do not know. But I seems to be gone now.

Looks like I spoke to soon. I drove for about 15 minutes and then stopped to park and got a bunch of white smoke.

I put on the one way check valve on for the oil cap. Hopefully that fixes it.

Where did you get the check valve?

At the risk of speaking too soon again, it's been about a week, I haven't gotten any large puffs of white smoke since I installed the check valve on right after the oil cap.

I'll repeat myself:

If you run a CCV+PCV can and block the PCV ports, you WILL get smoke unless you run a line from the valve cover low side to the intake manifold. You can tee it off the oil cap, or you can use an aftermarket valve cover that provides an ORB port and run that to the IM.

But blocking the PCV vents in the head, without giving a vacuum source to alleviate that pressure, is what causes the smoking. You've given that crank case pressure nowhere to go.

Makes me think some of y'all are just doing shit to your car without actually understanding what's happening or what you're changing.

Edit: further sources from Vargas Turbo, who illustrates this with their own billet VC that deleted the PCV relief ports. This is why oil backs up and the car starts smoking. Check valves are just masking the problem.

Do you have any examples of a setup like this? Maybe photos of your own setup? Just trying to understand better.

I realize I'm no expert, but the OEM ccv line is a one way line into the crank case. The BMR does not reuse this one way fitting.

I haven't had any issues with large clouds of white smoke since I installed the check valve at the oil cap, but I'm also going to install one on the ccv line also.

If you’re pushing more than 25PSI do not run the lower crankcase port (CCV) to your catch can. It will push oil. That port is an input port, only there to allow air in. It is not an output port.

I’m running the oil cap and PCV lines to the BMR catch can with BMR PCV pins on the head ports. Still have the stock CCV line to my turbo inlet. I’m pushing 34 PSI on a P850.

I think a lot of people think the CCV line is for venting.

I like what Ross Racing has to say on their listing for the valve cover check valve pins.

I'm not so sure that blocking the ccv is the correct way to go and I don't think leaving it with the free flowing line from the BMR kit is right either.

I think I'm going to put the OEM ccv line back on.

Hey guys I’m installing a pure900 and the BMR catch can. I routed the PCV and CCV to the can but what do I do with the PCV that went to the turbo inlet? It went to the same spot the PCV heater was at but since that’s deleted I’m not sure if it’s something I can just block off now or what?

Should be pretty similar to their video instructions, you use the lower piece of the CCV tube and block of with hose caps you can buy from a local parts store. Don't use their CCV line, it will cause smoke, just use your OEM ccv line.

The only discrepancy I found was in their video they hook the PCV heater line back into the stock turbo inlet but I don’t have one on the pure 900 setup.

I’ve read that too about smoke but where would I route the stock CCV then with the pure 900? They deleted the port it would go to, their turbo inlet is one solid piece.
