Even a 60 roll, there must be more done to your car than just a tune and exhaust. I mean maybe you are on e85?
I was on e30 brother . My new setup on e50 comes today that should be muuuuch better lol

I don't know if I could buy what was advertised as a track car only for Chevy to recommend not tracking or it'll overheat.

I know this is old but it is kind of laughable. Only reason I stumbled on this is because I had an opportunity to play with a c7 z06 today on interstate. I was exited I could hold my own. Keep in mind that’s with pure turbo, meth, and downpipe.

the vette is 650hp stock....... gonna need more then a down pipe and tune

Everyone knows no track cars have superchargers - heat soak is an actual thing. The Grand Sport is the actual track weapon; the Z06 is the boulevard bully.

My Supra takes stock Z06’s with just a downpipe and tune :drive:
Ummmmm....No, it absolutely does not.

I own both and there’s no comparison. The Supra is a better car overall, but it can’t hold a candle to the Z06. Not even in the same league.

I'd definitely take a used C7 Z06 over a new Supra but didn't because I already own a Camaro zl1 1le. I needed a daily that gets decent gas mileage and still sporty so a new Supra it was.

I would definitely not especially if the car already has 40K miles as posted by the OP. Even if new I still prefer the Supra for its shape and size, interior is real nice too.

This is an interesting thread. I was actually down to the 21 Supra or 17-19 Grand Sport. I obviously chose the Supra for many of the reasons sprinkled throughout this conversation. Even being a second car/weekend/autocross situation, the Supra was my choice. Price would have been pretty similar but the GS would be 2-4 years old and no idea how the previous owner/owners treated it. The Z06 was never a consideration. Z06 cost is significantly more unless you go with even higher mileage and an even older model year.

I also really like the Supra's smaller dimensions and less weight. This allows similar performance with less tire. I researched tire options between the GS and Supra and it seems there are more choices (and lower costs) for the smaller Supra sizes, especially in the 200 treadwear autocross street tire category. And as someone mentioned before, those Vette tires are steamrollers. One of my previous autocross cars was a 2004 Z06 (yes, it was and is an incredible autocross car) but those 305s were a handful to swap out for autocross days and the Hoosiers were EXPENSIVE. The 335s on the C7 are even bigger. I took the Supra wheels off for the first time last night to install a set of Burger spacers and was amazed at how light they are. I was pretty much able to take them off the hub with one hand.

Finally, and this is going to sound contrary to popular opinion but I WANTED an automatic. Don't get me wrong, I am also a manual fan and all of my previous autocross cars were manuals (85 Mustang GT, 89 Mustang GT, 93 Probe GT, 97 Mustang Cobra, 04 Z06, and 14 Miata). I get the whole save the manuals mantra. However, I also like performance and fast is fun. There's no arguing today's automatics are faster. I was very intrigued with the newer automatic transmission shift speeds and aggressive driving/sport mode logic. I am not disappointed! This ZF trans snaps off shifts that are so much quicker than anything I could have done in my power-shifting past and always being in the correct gear after braking is really nice. That's one less thing I have to be thinking about during an autocross. Others may have a different opinion but I'm really looking forward to this new automatic trans autocross world!

I have both a Supra and a C7 GS, you can see it hiding behind my Supra in my profile picture. For a daily driver car, I prefer the Supra, it is more fun to drive, and you don't feel every bump in the road. It is also better behaved at the stop lights. It's backend does not slide out if you give it a lot of gas. The Corvette has a tendency to do that, and then the traction control kicks in. I do like the steering better in the Corvette, it seems less like drive by wire. In the Supra I have to see how the car responds as the steering wheel doesn't tell me much at all. I've gotten used to it now so it doesn't bother me.

On the highway nothing beets the feeling of the V8 when you give it gas. The car just goes. The Supra is very quick on highway also, there is barely any turbo lag. Its acceleration feels different. When stopping the cars, the Corvette's brakes seem stop the car quicker, I have to be careful when stopping because I'm worried about being rear ended if I hit the brakes to hard.
Different worries for the Supra, If I'm rear ended I have to worry about the car being totaled. So I have insurance with the new car replacement policy. They will replace your car with one that is the same year or one year newer.

From a maintenance perspective, I haven't had any maintenance issues with the Corvette. Most of the larger Chevy dealers have mechanics that are specialists for the Corvette. I did have the first service on the the Supra and it went fine. I think the service for the Supra will depend on the dealer, the one I went does have a good sized used car lot and their own mechanic who can work on all kinds of cars. They have two that are trained for the Supra. Some dealers don't seem to have a clue. I would check with the dealer before service.

I believe the Supra is the winner when you wont to use it more as a daily driver. I have all seasons on mine so I don't have to worry when it gets cold. Driving the Corvette when it hits 40 is almost like driving on ice. It comes with summer tires that are similar to the stock tires for the Supra. I still don't take my Supra out in the snow. I also won't take it out right after it snows, until all the salt is off the road. Last year I made that mistake, and there was salt residue all over it, and it really shows up on the Blue.

New to this thread........don't own a vette but have a couple of buddies that do.....one has a C6 Z06......even with that car......"you're on CRACK...." I Like the supra a lot(even thinking of buying one) but i am no dummy to the "laws of physics"........against a C7 Z06, the only tune that would give the Supra a chance would be a C7 Z06 engine in its bay.......That's like saying "if superman had a tune.....he would not be vulnerable to Kryptonite".....

My budget was basically open to any mid-tier sports car up to a loaded 992 Carrera C4S, and even a low mileage C7Z wasn't on my radar because of how inferior it was in virtually any metric other than speed. Already bought a loaded Gen 5 Viper over the C7Z just due to the cooling issues they had back in 15-16. Ironically my Viper was in the dealership every thousand miles for something major (CEL after 25 miles on the clock). That being said, I'm putting my name on the waiting list the moment a local dealership will take a deposit on a C8Z. May still keep the Supra unless it proves to be unreliable.
