Fun thing happened to me today, tried to open up in first to second my car hung at 5k rpm’s in both gears then finally fell flat on its face and the car shit out gave me a drivetrain warning, sluggish and jerky and wouldn’t drive smooth at all. Limped all the way home at like 3 mph then after turning it off and back on it was fine but it’s still hanging at 5k rpm…. Can’t wait to see what my cars issue is so glad my 23 manual has no warranty after I sent it to Femto

i think it’s overboost or my turbo is shot. Which isn’t the worst thing in the world to replace. I’m just stressed and a little annoyed because Murphy’s law is usually my existence

Sounds more the like "intelligent" manual transmission software screwing up.
Its unfortunate since its a MT trans, i.e. you should have more control of the RPMs.. etc.

Try removing the clutch delay valve. It's common on BMWs and forces a delay when shifting fast. Sometimes it locks you out of gear, or if you apply to much throttle too soon it can slip.

Will you be getting tuned on Ecutek or is that still a no go for '23s?

i think it’s overboost
Whether or not the car lets you past 5k rpm, I’d be data logging to see if you notice anything abnormal. It might help narrow down the root cause.

I’m currently on BM3 bootmod probablythe stock tune is a bad tune
You ever go custom tune or still on OTS stage 2?

i don’t know my ass from my elbow with data logging the part I ordered to plug my phone into the car via Ethernet is not working at all. I bought a laptop today like a loser to see if that works better….
I’m dropping my car off Friday to do diagnostics to make sure I didn’t blow the damn thing up… it’s seemingly driving fine just gotta avoid boost until I figure out what my issue is. No custom tune only OTS so after I’m having it tuned… what a disaster this journey is becoming. It’s worse than my STI was

As far as we can tell, this vehicle doesn't have one.

As a former WRX and STi owner, I know your pain. Hope it's nothing serious and I appreciate you being the sacrificial lamb testing out tuning on the MT.

I’m very surprised that Toyota would allow a less than capable clutch on the release of the long awaited MTs.

Just wait “2024 A91-MTWBC limited only 400 units. This is the rarest Supra to date and not only sports a manual transmission but a ‘Manual Transmission With Beefy Clutch’ capable of the same levels of torque as the automatic transmission.”

Seriously though it’s a shame that those who will want to mod with peace of mind will also have to wait and upgrade the clutch for even a few power mods. While it isn’t that wide spread yet, it’s not a good sign. Especially those with OCD which I think most car enthusiasts tick that box at least to some degree.

Time for the aftermarket clutches to begin rolling out…

Update…. I dropped to a 91 octane stage 2 time and voilà 6 pulls later no issue… going catless removing high flow AA and will return with updates
Get that thing tuned by a pro before you burn it down with an OTS map. It sounds like you havent even logged the thing to see how its actually running. All bad.
