Ecutek tune causing OBDII emissions to fail

I worked with a reputable local shop to unlock my 2020 ECU and flash a custom tune. It's been great, except now that my car is above 30k miles and older than 4 years I have to pass emissions to renew my registration.

It turns out that the ECU now reports one-too-many tests as being "unsupported" (as opposed to "not ready"). My tuner (who shall remain unnamed for now), is pushing back and saying they had nothing to do with this change and that there's nothing they can do.

As I understand it, this should be as simple as toggling a flag in the tune to make the test/sensor readable in the ECU, and flashing that tune. Worst case scenario, I will have to go back to Toyota and have them re-flash my ECU, but obviously that's not desirable as I will lose my tunes.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with Ecutek? Am I out of other options?

All you need to do is flash the car back to stock and make sure you have OEM hardware installed.

You'll fail the OBD test and fail the visual inspection.

There is NO WAY around this.

At least in CA, emissions testing is more about computer checks than actual emissions. I ran the BM3 in my BMW 435i. Just flashed back to stock for a month and smogged it. Passed just on OBD check alone. But yes, they got out the mirror and looked for anything not stock.

Not only install your factory hardware and flash back to stock, but you will need to drive it for a bit to get the drive cycle emissions test cycle to set to "ready".

Places like california are actually checking the ECU Checksum to see if it has factory software on it - if it doesn't match you automatically fail regardless of what the monitors show.

This is ? why I am JB4, because if Komiefornia. Exhaust, while maintaining the CAT, can sometimes get a way with, anything else. Nope.

Did you have stock dp or aftermarket catted dp?

To get smogged, do you need to completely remove the JB4 from the car, or can you just unplug it from the OBD port and leave the rest plugged in?

What does being a tuner have to do with registering your car in a state that doesn't have emissions? This is the fixing problem at the root rather than some software fix.
