It was tough to leave it alone, but the class I ran allowed so few points, the plates/wheels/tires are all I could do. I'm actually really glad, as it let me focus on other things, especially driving.
The car is fast out of the box and my lap times were better than all but one of the modded cars I ran against (driver was a ringer). It was a great experience. So much so, that I"m low-key shopping Supras again.
Other than my daily, I've never NOT modified a car before or since. Even my old exotic has a few bits and pieces to make it mine. LOL.

Back on topic: I'd honestly be furious right now, if I were you. When I pay someone to do something, I expect them to know WTF they are doing. Saying that, I'm usually disappointed.
Yes, this car is plenty fast out of the box. The track days I did earlier this year were in a stockish car with plates, euro eibachs, front swaybar, track pads/fluid, tires, and an alignment. I was shocked at how fast this car is. Pretty much faster than everything I was out on the track with.

I'm kind of over being furious at this point. I was already extremely pissed for weeks over having missed multiple track weekends and suspected what I'm now dealing with was coming. Now the initial shock of just how bad this was is over I'm ready to fix this and move on. I just want to get the car back onto the track. On the other side of this, this was an opportunity to learn a ton about suspension kinematics and how to properly setup a track car suspension. When I got the car back the first time and had to take it back I went really deep into this since I knew it'd be on me to fix it.

I'm kind of curious if what you paid the shop is a sunk cost or if you're able to at least get a refund, or somehow reverse the credit card charges?

Sorry that you're dealing w/ this.

I can and will do a chargeback. I have a while to initiate this, I'm still building documentation for that case and it will require a repair estimate from another shop. There are quite a few other things I will do along with this. I did speak to the owner today, he agreed to a refund but wants time to get the money. We'll see, changes nothing with where I'm headed with this if that fails.

Yeah, but if you even get a refund at this point and can avoid court, evidence, time to do all that.... you might have to take it and move on. I'm not saying that's what anyone should do here, but not putting much if any work into it form here out is worth something.

Small update. Car is at another shop now being torn down, having everything inspected for damages, and having a full reinstallation, ride height adjustments, and alignment done. We'll see where this goes. I initiated a chargeback on my card with the cc company as well.

I also went ahead and consolidated all the problems from the prior shop and put this into the 2nd post of this build log https://www.supramkv.com/threads/edgeofsanitys-weekend-track-day-build.35481/#post-543713. Went ahead and left Steve's shop a 1 star review on google with instructions on how to find that post.

More to come, I'm not done with Steve yet.

Small update, looks like Steve screwed up the oil cooler install too. The lines will have to be redone, they're rubbing coolant hoses, ac lines, electrical harnesses and they're twisted causing the connections at the block and cooler to come loose and leak. New shop is putting sleeves over the lines as a temp solution to get the car back to me quicker for upcoming track weekends. It'll have to go back and be permanently fixed later.

Fortunately no subframe damage and the suspension arms and bearings appear to be ok outside of the caster arm damage. There are multiple dust boots that need replacement in the rear, looks like they couldn't get them on and cut them open.

Suspension arms in the rear had to be reset to their factory lengths and will be locked in with another alignment. While the rear was technically aligned, they had some of the arms adjusted near the end of the adjustment threads so they never bothered to set the lengths to factory prior to install.

The ride height has to be set higher in the rear to fix the reverse rake. No corner balancing this time around.

The mismatch in tie rod lengths was caused by a the camber plate adjustment side to side not being even. This also caused a difference in the FLCA lengths I didn't catch. This means the off center steering was caused by a sloppy alignment.

I also made some updates to the wall of shame post on page 1 based on what has been found.
