They can't deny warranty for that. It's super easy on the Supra too.
Oil changes in general are usually super easy lol but good to know that it's super easy on the Supra. I guess what I will do is call the Toyota dealership and ask if I can come in and use one of my Toyota care services early, if they give me pushback, I'm doing it myself.

I think you bought the car back in 2020. Don't know if yours is tuneable, but if it is I'd be cautious of dealer upgrading/locking things... Any recall on your VIN? They may come back and say "well we saw recalls and we took care of those" and give you an untunable one..

Yea I bought the car October 7th of 2020. Whats the production date of the tunable ECU's, or maybe the better question is what's the cutoff date for the ones that became locked? The car sat on the dealership showroom floor for close to 2 months before I eventually bought it so I'm assuming it was a mid or early 2020 build. So far I haven't seen any recall emails or notifications from Toyota associated with my VIN number. Thank you for bringing this up. If I do decide to get a tune later on this could potentially cause problems assuming my ECU is one of the ones that is currently able to be tuned.

Any ECU dated before June 2020 is tunable (flash or bench).

If I remember correctly, at least 1-2 people here said for whatever reason then went in the shop for, their tune got deleted and firmware upgraded... So, it's a word of caution.. Some were/are even debating putting locks on OBD2 port..

You donā€™t want to end up like the Aussie guy who posted about his burbles disappearing after a dealership pushed a new update to his ECU. I would just do the oil change myself.

Put a piece of tape over OBD II port, and specifically tell them not to plug in at all. My dealership respected this, and they reset oil change interval on dash. I just politely explained the situation and told them it will cost me $500 to unlock it if they flash it.

I got my first oil change at my local Toyota dealership on Feb. 12th. Basically the Supra told me it was time to get an oil change. Not sure if it coincided with me hitting 1500 miles or not but I had 1504 miles when I brought it in. They did the oil change free of charge due to Toyota Care and I had no issues at all with them saying it was too soon or whatever. I asked my service manager and he said that if the car tells me to bring it in then to bring it in and it would be fine. Weā€™ll see next time I get the alert.

I would have changed it before it hit 50 miles- otherwise irreparable harm will result.

Did first change at 1200, right as break-in ended. Went with Liqui-Moly Top Tech 6600.

Safe to wait until 5,000 miles? Was thinking of changing it at first 5,000 and again at 10,000. NOT 10,000 like Toyota recommends!

Do it now. Despite break-in procedures, better parts manufacturing, etc. you may still get particles. It's not a Camry. You're pushing the engine, so take care of it accordingly..
Good for the engine, bad for environment.
Is it '20 or '21?
I actually went out to the garage and pulled the ECU and checked the production date tonight and it read 20-03-18. I'm assuming that means that my car should be able to be tuned correct? Now if that's the case then a downpipe and ECUTek tune might be in my near future.

I just did mine at 4k. Oem filter and I'm trying out AMS oil 0w-40. Crazy thing I found was no crush washer on my drain plug. Looked on the oil pan and wasn't on it. Then checked my used oil pan and not in there.
