Car shifts normal now. Don't have to wait-on/baby 1st->2nd. Highly recommended. That is all.

Yup. It has been the single best mod so far

*put's on flame suit and flak jacket, grabs tin hat*

I've actually found now I have a few more miles on it mine is less and less of an issue...

Although as and when the clutch dies I'll probably remove it still.

Thanks for pointing this out, I am new here, and new to the mk5, and I hadn't heard about this before.

Clutch delay valve, it's in the clutch slave. You can either remove it from the stock slave cyl or you can get a different slave cylinder that doesn't have it. You'll have to search as I don't remember which slave cylinder you'd want. There are several how to write ups and videos on this.

Thanks for the explanation.

I really need to find time to do this. My partner is probably getting sick of me cursing the car out every time I shift to second without delaying and it lurches on me 😆

CDV delete was one of the best mods I’ve done to mine. It took MAYBE an hour max. The wood screw was clutch in getting the two pieces out of the line. Car shifts like a normal manual now 😊

Well this sheds a lot of light. No wonder I was having a hard time liking this clutch, gotta do this soon.
Is it just me or does the clutch also need a lot of travel to engage? Feels like I gotta go way in there especially when reversing.

It is a long clutch throw, apparently a bimmer thing. Not sure if anyone has made anything to shorten it yet.
