Hood vent and more bumper openings. Also, you have to remember it uses a Motorsports ECU with much different programming. The IAT at which power pulls is set pretty conservative on the mass produced supras.

They probably run straight water in the cooling system as well.
Didn't even consider the ECU at all. Good point. I wonder what if it'd be possible to tune the level at which power pulls on an oem ECU.

My IATs are good for now with an AMS intake manifold, but they can always be lower. Ideally, once I decide on what hood venting to go with, I'll be curious what the difference will be temp wise. Doing it on a Saturday afternoon after a morning session and before a Sunday session would be a fairly close data point.

Not a Corvette.

Yea, you can tune all that with the OEM ECU.

How much did your IAT drop with the AMS mani-cooler?

IIRC, roughly 30-35F in similar track conditions. Tried to find previous data logs, but can't seem to place them right now. Next track day isn't until the fall (traveling), so I'll have to get more data then. Cooling was substantial though with no aftermarket heat exchanger or side radiators.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Thunder Bunny Supra does at each of our home tracks:

https://www.racewrl.com/wrl-events

The bunny did win on Sunday at Barber ? Best lap at 1:34.87. Not sure if anyone here is home to Barber in Alabama for comparison. Can’t wait to see how they do at Sebring. Even if tuned down a bit.

Anyone know Thunder Bunny ? in the lead driving the Supra? It‘s a 9 hour race. Hope they can pull out the W ?

Friend of mine is one of the 727 Pinnacle drivers. During casual talk (text) said some damn Supra is killing it. So I had to look em up!
I'm friends with one of their race engineers, and met one of their drivers, Laura. Gotta go check out their Supra as they're local to me!

I’ve done 3 autocross and 5 track days with the car in stock form, and now just purchased suspension/brake mods.

What do you guys recommend for a base set up? I got all the SPL bits, Eibach f/r sway bars, MSS adjustable springs, and endless mx72+ pads + fluid.

I have new PS4S tires in stock sizes, and this is for both autocross and track days + ~2,000 easy-driving street miles/year.

I know driver mod is #1 by a long shot, but would love to hear your thoughts on where you’d initially set sway bars, ride height, and alignment specs.

have already learned a ton on this forum thanks to @FLtrackdays , @razorlab , @suicidaleggroll and many others!!

Those guys are way smarter than me. Which you already know. I make the mistakes and they help me after ?

Anyways, I’ve found that a spec alignment with -2.5 camber all around on my 275/35-18 square setup is really nice on track. Great place to start. I‘ll put a pinch toe out up front and toe in the rear. But definitely a personal thing.

Sway bars on the tightest settings. I could care less how it feels on street. If I lived in MA and drove to work, maybe I wouldn’t feel that way. But the roads are really nice down here.

I’m getting ready to adjust my height and rake after extensive rub from being too low on street/sport springs. If I have 0.8 inch wheel space up front, I’ll go with 1.2 inch wheel space the back. Or something like that. Glad you brought this up. Great timing for me too! I’m looking forward to what @razorlab eggroll or others do with their rake on track.

Watch those SPL bits. They tend to come loose in the beginning. This is just my experience. I can’t speak for everyone else, ofc. So check them before each track weekend. Eccentric lockouts are a must, if you don’t already have them.

I’m glad you’re really enjoying this car! I’m with ya, if you can’t tell ? I feel like a little kid. I think your going to love the feel and flexibility of the SPL bits ?

@FLtrackdays That’s helpful.. those specs sound about what I was thinking, except maybe starting with medium or soft firmness on sway bars. My thought is those sway bars on softest setting is already significantly stiffer than stock, so may be the best way to learn differences.

Regarding rake… you’re going to have the rear lower than the front? I had read somewhere that the rear should actually be slightly higher than the front for optimal setup. Can’t remember where. Was thinking maybe 0.5” to 1.0” all around with that in mind

My bad and meant the other way around. Lower in the front and higher in the back. I changed it to say wheel space, which is ass backward, I know. Thanks! I would like a positive rake and should be referring to height from the bottom of the car to ground.

And nothing wrong with playing with the sway bar firmness. After all it’s about how the car feels to you!! That’s the most important thing. If you feel confident & having fun, that’ll translate to faster lap times ?

Anyone else have a specific preference for ride height in our car on track?

you can see my friends GT3 in the reflection

5th track day this month…. Pressing pause till next one april 1
That is such a badass photo ?. My guess is you’ll be able to drive all summer at VIR.

Myself, more setup appointments this week, alignment w/out camber plates, only adjustable control arms, brake pads & fluid, rotors, and height adjustments for the new Ohlins. Homestead this weekend and Sebring in April. Then likely packing up. I’m suspecting I’ll be pushing the heat limits, for me.

At least I finally got my PS5 setup for my off season. Will be looking for @nibble to get me through until October on the gaming sim ✌?

That’s badass dude ?
I have the PS5, new wheel, and some virtual thing Grand Tursimo is compatible with. @nibble is willing to host a group of us. At least he was a while back. He also has a gaming thread. Check it out ✌?
