Coming from a Type R to the Supra, (always owned manual cars), i'm enjoying every min of the ZF auto. As already stated by a few others. Keep Supra auto, buy another less expensive car in manual, Miata, FRS, BRZ, s2000.

Well if your untunable 23 manual is going as fast as a modified tuned 2020 than you might want to chase a professional drag racing career ?

The majority of people who actually will be taking their stock vs stock car to the track will still probably be at least close to a second or more slower than the auto on a drag track. We will see

600-650 tq is pushing it on the stock trans. At those levels, prepare for a damaged trans after a while.
@Loco38SUP is correct. HP is irrelevant for trans.

To preface my post, I am well off. This is not a brag, just establishing context. Like most here, I have put time and money into my '20 auto. I bit the bullet, ultimately selling the MKV for a BMW M2 Comp MT. The financial sacrifice was measurable. While the driving experience in the M2C is better--marginally, I would not say it's measurable financial losses better. For example, the manual--in-spite of laying off of the dead horse--is incredibly vague; this was somewhat remedied with a different shiftknob. The steering "feel" is noticeably better, but I also have to chase the tail-end of this car a lot more in spirited driving--even on fresh PSS tires. Overall, I don't necessarily have seller's/buyer's remorse, but I would not make the swap if I could go back. That's just my two-cents as someone that made the jump from auto to another "BMW" manual car for the MT. Indifference would best describe my mood about the decision; that is certainly a disposition relative to my financial losses.
EDIT: I should have done more research on the manual transmission in the M2C; it is well known that there are a ton of driver assistance mechanisms in place that make it very awkward when engaging the clutch in 1st and shifting from 1st->2nd. The conclusion is that it is a manual that leaves A LOT to be desired.

The ultimate goal would be for that manual 4 banger to be low maintenance, cost effective, i.e. Honda, FRS, BRZ. I'd love to have a Type R or s2000. s2000 would be best, cheaper to maintain, drop top, manual, east to locate parts, easy to mod, light, small, takes up less room in garage.
