Throttle hesitation

To your point, when I was troubleshooting, I did turn TC off and the problem seemed disappeare And I thought I had it solved, except one time when I did have TC off the problem happened again.

Well, guess it's not likely the TC systems. The software in these cars is so buggy

It has happened to me twice in the last couple of days. Both times were when the engine was still cold. Right after I pulled out of the driveway. But once it’s warmed up, it’s normal again. Weird. I’ll keep an eye on it tho.

This is exactly when it happens to me. I believe its a failsafe to help protect the engine while cold. Its a little too sensitive though, maybe it can be adjusted with Bimmercode?

When I experienced this, it was near the end of my commute to work. Which is 45 min of driving. So, I don't think it's temperature dependent. Or at the very least, it appears it can happen when the engine is hot or cold.

There's a blurb in the user manual about the system doing some self-checks that can result in reduced power/throttle response within the first 30 seconds of starting the car. I believe that explains the times when it happens immediately after starting the car (that's the only time it's ever happened for me, and it was just once).

For those of you where it's happened long after starting the car, maybe the same system is causing it and is just being triggered for another reason while driving? Like maybe a voltage fluctuation is causing that part of the system to reset and start its 30 second boot timer/self-check again?

I like this explanation and it could apply to the two times I experienced this - which is almost immediately after restarting the car after a longer drive and leaving a parking lot.

Could certainly be something in the coding of how the system interwork, and the sensors are getting mixed signals, but how does one even solve this problem.

Good info, thanks for sharing. Sometimes I think I’m in a finicky high end Italian super car. Where I need to talk to it in a soothing voice and make sure it aligns to my driving style. ?

Some interesting points raised in this thread.

I've noticed 30min drive then park for 5min. Come back and floor it and vicious power - slipping from 1st to 2nd.

Then the other week I was cruising and coming up to a set of lights where cars were stopped I was in normal and floored it. No good big delay(hesitation) and then vicious rear squirrel so backed off; wanted a smooth rapid acceleration and instead got a snap on the rear diff(overload)

I then did something at end of this drive that fixed the lag to the pedal. I then drove it home (1hr) and it was perfect both normal and sports- power was smooth with the accelerator pedal working consistently at all different positions.

Will test it again this weekend to confirm change and share what it was (may/may not work for all).
It is electronic or ECU related another one of these DBW systems.

OK this may or may not work for you but I certainly felt a difference afterwards.
Go into sports individual and click reset all settings. That's it.

Post here what you feel after the reset.
I am not sure what this does to the ecu but it did something for me with the throttle.

Try coding in sport plus mode in and see how the throttle response is. Otherwise could be the turbo taking time to spool?

IV had an issue like this constantly and the only thing that fixes it for me is going into my ECUTEK app and clearing the codes even though there are none... I need to borrow a bigger scan to as maybe there is a pending code hidden somewhere. The issue I’m having is my turbo spools to 7-8psi under full throttle and car is not fast at all. Throttle response doesn’t come back till I pull over and clear the Dtc With my app and then it’s pulling fine with 26+ psi for a few day and then it happens again..
