Anyone here going to Detroit?

Having seen the GTE GR A90 in the flesh, it's a stunning looking car... keen to see what others think when they see it IRL
I'll be there and be sure to take multiple photos along with personal opinions on aesthetics and feel from outside of the car :headbang:

The mkv is just a terribly hideous sports car, nascar version included. Lexus is on the right track with the RC however and if that platform were to get the v6tt, that will surely get my dollar.

Toyota Brought Every Supra Generation to SEMA
Including racing versions of the 2020 model.

Toyota had a large presence at this year's SEMA show, with a range of modified pickups, SUVs, and compact cars at the automaker's booth. The most eye-catching section of the area, though, was this lineup of every generation of the Supra sports car. Each one was finished in white, and all were in near-perfect, unmodified condition. Toyota also brought two racing versions of the upcoming 2020 Supra; it's no secret that the brand has been playing off of the Supra's long heritage to build hype for the new A90-generation model. It was impossible to pick a favorite, so we've highlighted all six Supras for your enjoyment.

Toyota Celica Supra (A40 Generation, 1979–1982)

The first generation of the Supra came to the United States in 1979. Dubbed Celica Supra in America—in Japan, it was called Celica XX—it was based on the contemporary Celica liftback. But the Supra was wider, had a longer wheelbase, and used an inline-six engine instead of the Celica's four-cylinder. The Supra's engine was initially a 110-hp 2.6-liter, which this example is equipped with, but later years got a 116-hp 2.8-liter unit.

Toyota Celica Supra (A60 Generation, 1982–1986)

The second-gen Celica Supra was a complete redesign, with a new DOHC 2.8-liter inline-six making 145 horsepower (then upgraded to 150 horses for 1983 and 160 hp for 1984), an independent rear suspension, and aggressive, wedgy styling fit for the '80s. It landed on our 10Best Cars list in '83 and '84, and in a 1984 comparison test in which we searched for the best-handling imported car, it beat a Lotus Esprit, a Ferrari 308, and two Porsches, a 911 Carrera and a 928S.

Toyota Supra (A70 Generation, 1986–1992)

For its third generation, the Supra was a stand-alone model for the first time. It also was available with a turbocharged engine for the first time: Toyota's 7M-GTE inline-six, which made 232 horsepower. (Standard Supras had a naturally aspirated version of the same engine with 200 horses, and later Turbo models got even more power.) In our 1987 instrumented test of a Supra Turbo, it did zero to 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds. The A70 Supra could be had with a targa top, which this Turbo model is equipped with, and advanced performance features including electronically controlled dampers were available.

Toyota Supra (A80 Generation, 1993–1998)

Out of every generation of Supra, the A80 is arguably the most iconic—especially Turbo models like this one. Fitted with Toyota's legendary 2JZ inline-six engine, which made 320 horsepower in Turbo form, it hit 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds in our 1993 instrumented test. That's quick even by today's standards. The fourth-gen Supra's rounded body, smiling face, and huge rear wing are instantly recognizable, and the car's reputation as a go-to tuner machine was reinforced in 2001's The Fast and the Furious, in which it was the star car.

Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept

At the 2018 Geneva auto show, Toyota officially confirmed that the Supra would be returning, and it used this GR Racing concept to do it. Not designed for any particular racing series, the concept acted as a preview both for the production Supra and for the different race cars that will surely follow it.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Toyota Supra

As part of the lead-up to the 2020 Supra's reveal (which will finally happen in January 2019), Toyota announced that the new Supra will replace the Camry in the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series. The NASCAR Supra's first race will be the Daytona 300 in February, where it will compete against the NASCAR versions of the Chevrolet Camaro, the Dodge Challenger, and the Ford Mustang.
