Probably to build a great car that serves the purpose of homologating a GT3 race car and selling them at a price to those who may appreciate it in numbers that will ensure they get enough sold to comply with said homologation. So what is Toyota aiming to do: Make a more expensive car that is worse? The more I think about it, the more I think this is Toyota's NSX moment.
You keep saying "worse". If "worse" to you is a set of numbers on a piece of paper then why do you even own a Supra? Don't bother answering, I'm not going to continue debating over a set of assumptions.
