They won't, same as them promising the next Cayman would be all-electric only for 2+ years before caving to the backlash and making an ICE version.VW is rumored to be killing off the ICE version of the next 718... your move Toyota

The prototype version's slightly lower hood line, larger rear tires and overall tweaked body lines make it look better than the concept car version IMO. It looks great.Rumor is itāll use solid state batteries. Still lame itās going to be an ev though

EV's can have soul but automakers don't care about that, they only care about making them fat barges entirely built for fast 0-60's because that's the only performance metric that matters.Iām sure it will be amazing for an EV but Iād take the Toyota with the gas engine all day long over this.
EVās have no soul!
If the EV Lexus flops I wonder if Toyota has a backup plan where they could make a verson an ICE version with the GR GT's V8I'm sure it will look amazing; however, it's such a shame that they will only offer it with an EV powertrain.![]()
I think itās difficult to do otherwise currently, at least at a price point that isnāt in super car territory. Current non-exotic batteries are just too heavy and still pretty expensive!EV's can have soul but automakers don't care about that, they only care about making them fat barges entirely built for fast 0-60's because that's the only performance metric that matters.
I'm actually kind of excited for the electric version of the cayman, because it might finally be a under-100K all-electric sports car that's kind of fun.
