Buy the Lexus - you will never buy another car brand again after owning one.

I had a 2018 GT and loved it. Wild car and the exhaust sounds amazing. Iā€™d vote for that.

Here's the short list

1) 2022 Mustang GT 6m
2) 2023 Subaru BRZ 6m (have a deposit down, but might back out)
3) 2021 Lexus IS 300 awd
4) 2010 Nissan 370Z 6m
5) 2017 Mazda MX5 hardtop 6m
6) 1987 Trans Am GTA automatic (Showroom condition)
If you do not need to carry kids - then BRZ. Otherwise - IS300.
If you already have asecond large car/SUV - then Supra can be a DD easily.

Here is my 2 cents, I was in a similar position. I had a fully paid off and modded 2016 WRX, great condition mechanically and was a great daily. I figured, hey Im 26, great job, no kids, might as well get the most fun unpractical car I can at this point in my life. I do not regret it one bit. Yeah sure my HKS exhaust couldnt fit in the car and I needed a friend, or I had to do 2 trips to get my TE37s mounted since only 2 can fit, but daily things like groceries, weekend trips with 2 carry ons and extra stuff, and other things are a breeze.

So I would say the BRZ. lol

I've owned a few lexii in my day, 4 I think. An overwhelming sense of meh.
Same here, mine were from 97, 04, 07, 15, and 16. Besides being boringly reliable (with exception to the FJ80), the problem lies with expensive parts replacement on almost impossible to find (NLA) low-volume parts. Ever deal with unobtanium HVAC and integrated controls? Wiring harnesses? Brake parts? Electronics? Totally not worth the headache.

OP, have you considered an EV? Iā€™d suggest to DD an Ioniq 5, with good cargo space, good seating should you need it, 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, quick charging, can park itself without you in the car, can pull out of a spot without you in the car, all the latest safety features, and a very useful HUD. Iā€™m set to buy once the N model drops. Otherwise, Iā€™d be hard pressed to buy any on that list unless you *really* wanted to get that T/A.

Buy the Lexus.
my last Lexus lasted me 250,000 miles and I beat that car down. And I treated that car so poorly. Never changed the transmission fluid, original spark plugs, changed oil every 10,000-15,000 miles, never changed the diff fluid, etc.
the only thing I had to replace were the struts and alternator. Till the day I sold it, the car passed smog and ran great.

The new IS looks good, I think.. aren't those cars about quality and looks? ..and maybe middle income success gauges? I drive a Subaru so it tells me I am a lesbian man. :hmm:

Iā€™m biased but i think a GTI is the best value in fun and practicality. Itā€™s the best daily Iā€™ve ever owned. Can fit a crap ton of stuff in it because itā€™s a hatch, itā€™s good on mileage, handles probably better than any hatch should, itā€™s cheap to mod and spanks 5.0 mustangs all day, itā€™s reliable. From your list, i had a 370z, it wasnā€™t practical for me, not sure what that means to you. I could hardly fit golf clubs in it or 3 bags of groceries without hitting the rear window glass. The Supra actually has more space in the back because itā€™s deeper. If you have a dog(s), 2 seat sports cars are pretty tough, certainly depending on size.

We also loved the hatch, as well as the camera that is never dirty!!
