A91 & Recent 2021 Impossible to Tune / ECU manufactured after 2020/6 is locked? [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I'd actually love to understand the technical hurdles as well. I've been told it cannot be done, but I'm not exactly sure why not.

Somebody several posts back mentioned that the dealer would have to flash your VIN to it in order for it to work with all of the other electronics and security in the car. I'm not sure where they got that information though. I posted links to a couple of places that have ECU/DME's for sale.

Yeah - that's what I've heard as well.

I heard a rumor about the cracking the new Bosch ECU, some ppl in China have progress on it.

I'm not surprised if the Chinese hackers can achieve that, BMW has factory there so they may get some info from the employee under the table.
Not sure if it is about Toyota China finally gets Supra mkV imported recently, IMO it's more about the huge new car's tuning business.

Yes, any build date before 05/20 and you're golden. When I bought mine, I was looking for a specific build date. Your build date is the same as mine.
