I was able to get these slimey salesman to sell me a supra for $53,854 and taxes and all the other add ons aren't really visible.
This is what he told me
"the car Price Selling price $ 53,854 plus $500 dealer processing fee + CA sales tax, DMV tag & title fee plus any applicable county, district and city/town fees. As you can see you are getting almost $3k discount. Let me know if it works. Thanks"

500 dealer processing fee?

also they have been secretive about breakdowns/itemizing the entire sale, so I've been kind of hesitant.

The finance guy's salesman said it would be $58,854 OTD but won't give me the breakdown.

Well, should I do it?

I have lots of fun vechicles...
Find another Toyota Dealership that values your business!

If they wouldnā€™t give you a complete sales proposal with all costs associated with your Supra purchaseā€¦ just walk away!

My bank is offering 2.19%

They pulled my credit (long story but the sales guy kind of tricked me), but the finance manager just gave me a range.
He said "between low 2s to mid 2s"
Everything has been very secretive-ish.
To get them to tell me some sort of break down felt like I was pulling teeth. Is that normal practice for dealerships? I've never experienced that here in California. This dealer is in MD.

Since no one on here is chipping in on your monthly payment, I'd say only you can really answer that. Is it used/new? Mileage? tunable, what other options are on it?

I had a dealer down here try to sell me a used 'Premium' for 55.2 plus 2k 'dealer add ons'... so 57.2k and it was a 3.0 Base and even after pointing out via VIN decoder, Toyota's description etc, they insisted it was a Premium. But that was a while ago, now 3.0's are being advertised for 60+ here.

Hey, that sounds about right. You can go to CA DMV website to calculate your Registration/Tax/Fees. I would try to negotiate the OTD price. Check out what other members have paid here on another thread. I think $55-56K OTD would be a great deal. Does it have Drivers Assist?

New, non-tunable judging from the production date I ran with the VIN.
Mileage - sales guy didn't know, he said it's never been test driven to 3-5miles. He sent me pictures that still had all the protective plastic and stuff on it.
Also it's Renaissance Red....the color I've been drooling over.

Decisions decisions

Yes it's premium with Drivers assist.
The sales guy said $58,854 OTD, the finance guy didn't break it down. But gave me the base price of the car. It's been a frustrating back and forth as they seem to be very slimy. The finance guy straight up lied and told me my credit pull was a soft pull...

Based on your tax rate, it sounds like it's all fairly reasonable. Up to you if it's worth dealing with a dealership that's 'tricked' you into running your credit and is being shady on the figures. Sounds like they have the potential to pull something else after they've got you further along in the process. When I bought mine out of state I think I had the full break down sent to me via text/e-mail in like 15minutes. It really shouldn't take that long or be that hard.

And yea, breakdowns should be easy to provide if they're serious about making a deal. Just get their breakdown and take it to another dealer to get a better price if they ever give you one.

Its seems very reasonable considering the market right now. You might not find a better deal and with the color you want. $53-$55K for premiums are what the market is at for deals. The $50K premiums are unicorn finds nowadays.

Seems reasonable, you're paying about 2k more than I did and mine was a GM demo with 3,700 miles on it already....but it was technically a "new" 2021...and it's got a tunable 3/20 DME. :headbang:

I say go for it, or if it seems shady, find another dealer to match it. You'll love the car.
