A91 & Recent 2021 Impossible to Tune / ECU manufactured after 2020/6 is locked? [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

A friend of mine's uncle had a roommate that went to college with the owner of MMW's niece that dated a dude in high school - that's dude's mom had a one night stand with a guy named Rick and Rick said that MMW tuned his 2021 with a full unlock and has 980whp on stock turbo and two bottles of Noz. Two of the big ones. Sounds pretty credible to me.

I’m not a news watcher in this bear market, so please educate me. Will Russia completely stop receiving any packages when they invade? I can’t picture it will really have an affect. Correct me if I’m wrong

i think the fear is what might happen if your ecu is being returned to the US and it gets stuck in customs limbo because of political tension

Yeah it’s definitely not going to be popular that’s for sure. No denying that it’s not cheap. Just figured I’d share if anyone is interested and wanted to see what it looks like. I’m very happy with it that’s all I care about.

Hi, I’m also considering this upgrade along with suspension and exhaust. It isn’t cheap but comes with a warranty until the summer of 2024, I expect the the dme will be cracked by then and I can go ecutek with a down pipe.

Any regrets?

Yeah- don't do this. That's an insane amount of money for a piggyback.

One of the previous posts from that OP said "I trust the tuners at AC more than JB4", which is like saying, "I trust my mechanic more than Snap-On tools."

Buy a JB4, call @Jesse DaBears and go that way. They are functionally the same for an order of magnitude (almost TWO) in price difference.

Yes I know acs is piggyback but they do work closely with BMW and you are basically paying 80% of the money for a warranty.

Not sure what the news is like over with you guys in the US but here in the UK they’re suggesting the first sanctions will include ceasing all trade with Russian businesses in GBP and USD. I don’t even have my supra yet so not an immediate concern for me BUT I’d be very wary of sending anything right now. If/when something happens it’s going to be quick.
Of course, tuning our cars might be the least of our concerns if people don’t calm it down a bit soon!

May be time for them to cash out and stop this whole you gotta send all your crap to us with 3 pages of instructions to do it properly nonsense. Fine line between profitability, greed, and being a part of the community. You don't wanna piss off your community/ customers cause that isn't good for business either. Just saying.
