On one of those 1/4 mile calculators I've tested a RWD Q50 RS. On Car & Driver it weighs 3895 lbs for a RWD model and I put it at 375whp and it trapped 12.7 1/4 mile/ 112.7 mph which was the trap speed of the car in C&D. If you erase 300 lbs from the Q50 RS400 you end up with the heaviest automatic Performance Z which weighs 3600 lbs(Canada model) which is 12.37 1/4 mile/115.7 mph.

I think auto Z will be a 12.3 second car and manual Z will be a 12.8 second car. Gearing is king!

I would say thats pretty accurate, over on the Q forum we broke it down completely using the ratios of the new trans vs old etc. will link if I find it

12.7 with RWD would be a miracle time, those are AWD numbers
Edit: I stand corrected, it seems after ditching stock RFT you can get into 12.5-7 with stock RWD, AWD stock dipped as low as 12.3. Realistically you won't go lower than 12.9 with a stock RS RWD on no prep

There is so many factors that go into that though, biggest ones being steel 2 piece driveshaft and open diff vs LSD and carbon one piece shaft. Going off Q experience the driveshaft savings are negligible, however I feel like the 60ft will massively improve with the LSD.

I like both cars and I’m excited to see a Z in person. Im not into the this v. that stuff for the record.

I did read more into the post about the 370-390dyno and even those users seem to agree, it has to do with a correction factor from the high altitude. The only dynos I know about are the chicken nugget kind so I don’t really know what that means. Just going by what one of the GTR tuners mentioned In a post there. Anyway, Im excited to see the Z in the wild and to see what kind of mods people come up with. So far all their marketing has been the Brooklyn reveal sucked.

Either way, I think it’s great to have the luxury of being able to shop around for sports cars. I wanna try them all out but not necessarily buy one of each.

I'd like to buy one of each... and I might - but the problem is more one of availability these days. If Nissan can even produce and sell half as many of the new Z as they pulled off with the 370 - then there will be many more available than there are of the Supra... which should mean you have more negotiating room.

In reality, if they only have enough parts to complete a partial production run... then most of those are going into Rogues, Frontiers, Altimas, and Sentras. The Z may be more interesting than all of those (to us), but it isn't nearly as popular as far as sales are concerned - and likely has lower margins per unit as well.

If the Nissan Z lives up to all the hype I would consider getting one to compliment my Weekend fun cars. Not the first year of course. I need for those thousands of beta testers to work out all the bugs first. ?

What engine tempts you more? The V6 from Toyota or the Mercedes AMG. I’m leaning towards interest in the smaller AMG

If the current market continues, you can virtually guarantee there will be a ridiculous markup on any that somehow escaped pre-orders. Look at the C8 and multiply by 2 would be my guess considering there's only going to be about 5% as many available in total.
