Maybe they're modular and they can shorten and lengthen them, who knows 🤷‍♂️

There's a difference between having an opinion, and using it as a cop-out. He doesn't say "even though the Supra is the better car, I prefer the Z because of blah blah blah" he simply stated "the Z is the better driver's car" which is utter nonsense. If the Z won some categories, I could agree, but 8 wrongs doesn't add up to a better "driver's" car. Not in any fairytale.
If you haven't driven a Z, how do you know it's nonsense? A car doesn't have to be a better performer to be better driving. A car can lose in every single category and still be more fun to drive.
I'm thinking you are misunderstanding what "driver's car" means.

It was a great way to prove their bias, and make literally every subjective "opinion" they hold suspect. I don't believe them for a second that the Z is actually a better driver's car, for example, since they've proven they can't be trusted.
True. Hard to say. Honestly, I watch SG for the bit of technical info and news I can get...I ignore everything else. What I need from a car RARELY lines up with what "automotive journalist" think I need lol

No. The platform is completely and totally bespoke for the GR Supra and Z4.
With regards to the bespoke platform used for the GR Supra and Z4, this in-depth interview with Tetsuya Tada is a great video on how the Supra's chassis, suspension, and tuning were engineered during the research, development and testing phases of the process.

Supra portion of the interview begins at the 3:10 minute mark of the video.

Emotions vs facts
Facts are true whether you believe them or not
Emotions are specific to the individual
I like to stick with the FACT that the J29 is a fair superior car than the 370z turbo

Which I believe also to be true. Still doesn't mean it drives better. Facts/data play no part in a car having a better "feel".
Emotion is probably 95% of it. That's why it's called "feel" and not "stats" and also why so many cars that have low stats are regarded as some of the best-driving cars in the world.
I had a 4cyl car that was FWD, rated at 197hp, but drove better than my Supra.

FACTS are why manual transmission and ICE will be extinct soon. It's also a FACT that an A100 / EV Supra will be a superior car to the J29. Emotions are what creates legendary cars like the MKIV because the FACT is is that the MKIV wasn't a superior car to it's direct competitors in the 90s.

I'm just hoping someone on these forums has more info since there doesn't seem to be much technical info about CLAR or the Supra chassis on google/youtube. It may be a little unfair/hypocritcal to say the Nissan Z is sedan based when I haven't found any evidence that the Supra/Z4 aren't. Of course the Supra has the better chassis vs. the Nissan Z, but I'm not so sure it's any less sedan based than the Z. Also sedan based maybe a stupid thing for Cammisa to say, when all he may be inferring to is the high curb weight and body roll of the Z that reminds him of sedans. (edit: the Supra may just do a better job hiding it's weight)

As a disclaimer I have a deposit on an MT Supra since April, so I'm not just here to stir the pot lol.
Like you, I had an RX8 and loved the neutral balance of that car on track and how you could rev that little rotary engine to insane rpms!!!! The S2000 was my next track car. It was twitchy as hell. You definitely had to hone your driving skills to avoid snap oversteer. But you became a better driver really quick, lol. I ended up gutting it, modifying the shit out of it and turning it into a dedicated track car. It was that much fun!!!!! My current MX5 was supposed to be my compromise. Track less & need less mods, but bottom line... basic mods are a must for anyone tracking their ride on a semi-regular basis. Just no way around it, imo. With that being said, what a beast this Supra is! Even cheaper and weighing less than it's BMW counterpart 😍

As far as this comparo, the new Z is clearly too far behind the Supra from the starting gate, no matter what they call em. If I could find a sedan with better power to weight ratio, I'd probably buy that 😂 . A Porsche Boxter or Corvette would be a more realistic comparison, but they cost so much more.... So, I'm dying to throw on some sway bars, track pads, DOT4 fluid and go from there!

Is this poor forum etiquette to copy and paste my post from another thread? I'm thinking there could be a better discussion in this thread.

For the Performance trim at $50+k the Z is in no way a Supra killer. But at what $ value would the Z be a Supra killer of VALUE? Would a base Z (40$K) with a performance pack (LSD/Brakes/wheels/tires) priced under $45k be a Supra killer? Or if Nissan could keep the $40k base trim and just add an LSD, would it be a Supra and GR86 killer? Any track rat would be upgrading the brakes/wheels/tires on a performance trim Z or Supra, so this could be the potential ultimate tuner car at $40k with an LSD.

Hard to beat the Supra's German DNA & engine 🤤 (did I mention for thousands less than a similar equipped BMW?). And holy torque Batman! It's insane what the drag guys can do with this engine....

This is just the overall architecture. It's like mentioning all of the new Toyota/Lexus vehicles that sit on a TNGA platform, but not differentiating between them.
That was in response to Dannyvandelft's posting the image of the Z's wikipedia platform post regarding the "sedan based" comment. How is the Supra any more or less "sedan based" than the Nissan Z?

If you do that, where does it end?
"The Supra is a Ferrari F8 killer, having less performance for less money"
Makes no sense.
The R35 was a supercar killer when it launched, because it was actually faster than some higher tiered cars when it did.
The only thing the Z is killing is it's target buyer demographic. It's already too expensive out of the gate, and the dealers will price the Z out of existence.
R.I.P. Z, we never knew ye.
