Has anyone here tried transporting a set of wheels on the roof with something like the seasucker roof rack?
Yeah it worked great, it's best transported on flat driving routes and avoid curvy mountain roads. Only thing you'll really notice is reduced MPG due to the extra drag. @Suggs.OR was running Seasuckers + a Thule Box for a while just for standard storage. The box wouldn't work for tire transport so you'd need a rack like in the picture of mine. I ran 3 wheels up top and one in the trunk. Might be a little better if you can squeeze two in the trunk and 2 up top.

I've got my bars for sale if interested. Possibly my rack by unsure about that one, with shipping cost might make more sense to just get a new one on amazon. This is the one I ordered: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073G49NPV. I don't need them anymore since I fabbed up a trailer hitch plus I have now moved on to a full on car hauler.

I loved it with the roof box. Don’t think I would drive with tires though.

Got my first track days in the Supra coming up in October at Laguna and have the following mods for the intro build:
- DTC 60/30
- Stainless steel brake lines
- High temp fluid
- Verus Camber Plates

I have two paths in front of me for the last v1 mods (I ease into it from a budget standpoint ? ) I can pick up an 18" square used set of Titan TS5s with Conti ECFs, or run RE71Rs on the stock rims and instead get a Sparco seat installed. I've seen reviews of the stock seats on track, and I've also seen the benefits of some square 275 200TW tires -- I'm very torn on which path to go with for v1. Which would y'all suggest if you could only pick one?

Sounds like you’re on the right path! Seats are always the biggest bang for the buck if you’re not going to daily the car, more than track her. However, you won’t be sorry buying a square set of wheels with a slew of 275/35-18 tires available. If I was in your shoes:

Dedicated track car - seats & harness 1st
Double duty ride - get the wheels & tires and a set of knee pads on Amazon - you’ll need them

I would get the square setup. In fact I did, my limited mods are similar to yours. DTC60/30, SRF Fluid, Apex 18s to run 275 square. Considering camber plates next. Waiting to see how much life I get out of my tires as-is; if it's good enough I'll leave it stock so I don't get moved up a class for TT (which I'm not doing yet, but considering).

I bought some knee pads anticipating an issue with the seats based on comments here, but I haven't needed them. Probably I'm just not fast enough. Or maybe my height/seating position puts me in a place where it isn't a problem.

Finally got to test out the DTC 60/30 combo compared to the PMUs. I like the DTCs better. I feel like they handled the heat better. Pedal feel and bite is better as well. Got the fronts hot enough to melt the paint off the pads and experience no fade or odd pedal travel. Also to note, I felt like I hit ABS a lot less than the PMUs. Brake dust was absolutely terrible after bedding them in but after a day on the track, I would say its the same as the PMU. The best part, my brake shutter is completely gone now!

Argh, not very encouraging for my vibration issues :(

Might be time to pop your rotors off. When I installed the new pads, I took a wire wheel on a drill to each rotor to remove the old compound. Would be worth a try for you, then bed them in again.

I've been waiting to see if anyone else said anything and I'm having the same issue as you with my Club Racers. They were put on fresh rotors and I feel like I bedded them in very well. My first track day with them was exactly as you're describing. On normal street driving and autocross I have no vibration. I'll be at the track this weekend to see if the same thing occurs again or not. Roebling won't be as hard on my brakes as Road Atlanta was. I feel like it's probably an issue when the pad hits the top end of the heat spectrum.

I'll be at the track Friday for a full day as well, please report back and I'll do the same.

If I can't get on top of the issue quickly, I might try the Endless ME20 next year.

Let me know how it goes.
I just did a track day at Sebring with a new set of club racers on used rotors and was getting some crazy vibrations. As the sessions went on the vibrations would show up later and be less intense. I also felt like I bedded them in pretty well before the track weekend. I guess they are just sensitive to the older pad deposits like Bryan was saying.

Will probably just replace both the pads and rotors if I still have the vibrations after my next track day.

The PMU 999s are shockingly good

The heat down here right now on track is well over 120. Amazing you can do it. Definitely younger than me ?

Bryan is usually right. I did low grit sandpaper one older set and that helped. But didn't get much from the rotors after that. Started to show a lip. So, I'm back to just buying a new set of front rotors when it's time. The rear just doesn't need changing nearly as often. Hence buy rotors when they get new pads as well.

Can't remember, did you try SRF? Doubt I'll ever go back to anything else
