Hello! Posting my results from/review of my newly installed DAW UltraFlowX. Installed and tuned by Sam Performance, Dubai.
Goals:
Dyno pull:
Goals:
- Street car (no or limited track use)
- Realiability
- Pump gas only - 98RON (no methanol, no ethanol)
- 550whp target (want to outrun M4 comps on paper)
- Eventuri intake
- Will be swapping to MSTv2 (see issues below)
- Will also be adding an AOS soon
- FTP Chargepipe
- DAW 5" catless downpipe
- DAW UltraFlow X turbo
- HKS Dual muffler catback
- Stock cooling system
- Tuner did not notice crazy high IAT on the dyno. But he did tweek some fan settings. Will be upgrading this soon nonetheless.
- Fuel: 98 pump gas (no meth, no ethanol)
- Ambient temp: ~30-35°C (Dubai, UAE)
- Low boost (21psi target): 470whp 445wtq (lb.ft)
- High boost (26psi target): 550whp 507wtq (lb.ft)
- Insane to drive, coming from BM3 OTS with catted dp (~420whp). Almost dangerous but exhilarating
- Not as much turbo spool noise as i expected. Thats fine, I dont have the T51R mod.
- Turbo lag is very noticable before 3500rpm, much more than stock. DAW is not not a twin scroll as far as I know and this is probably expected for a larger turbo. Also been told its easier on the engine to gradually ramp up boost.
- DAW turbo inlet seems to have been built for the MST v2's size. My Eventuri piping diameter was to small at the inlet side. Had to make a custom adapeter. Will be switching to MST v2 soon.
- The turbo smokes very slightly on cold start and hard pulls. You can smell the burnt oil. Tuner told me this is common for DAW UltraFlow X customers and that DAW supplies a Oil feed restrictor to prevent this. Will be chasing Shawn from DAW about this. Will keep yall posted.
