Nice! I was able to BARELY break 6. The goal for next year will be to break 5.

btw, your oil smoke problem is fixed?
No not yet. After installing the restrictor, I still am seeing smoke again. I have been logging and have lost about 5mm of oil level across 500km (full is 96mm raw oil level).

Shawn is going to send me an oil drain hose and smaller restrictor to try out in that order.

The issue was fixed for @Wazza after installing the drain hose. He is also a UFx user in the same country as me.

5mm in 300 miles? lol I don't even lose that after six track days.
yes, I see large puffs of smoke when I pull hard in higher gears ? Shawn thinks it’s the oil pump that is inconsistent between cars and in some cars sends too much oil to the turbo

Of course he does. He shifts blame for his smoky turbos to anything BUT his smoky turbos.

That excuse is total BS as it's PWM regulated.

Shawn will do anything and everything he can to not cover his products after they’ve been shipped. Same with Tony Vargas. If you want a hybrid, go with Pure. Otherwise go full frame.

Maybe he just takes his turbos to the smoke shop with him. Did anyone ever stop to investigate that?

IDK what happend with the DAWs they were great. After the UFR turbos came out a lot of customers started to complain about the oil smoking issue. Everyone I worked with i believe have had it resolved from new drains or an oil restrictors.

Pure had all these issues originally now with the new cast manifolds and turbos that dont require a core they seem to be doing really well without issues.

To be fair to Shawn, he is very responsive and has been helpful in troubleshooting. He replies very fast and is send these parts to try and fix it at no cost.

Some small issues are just the nature of the beast when modding. Nothing is perfect. I’m happy with the UFx, is performing great for my needs and haven’t had any major breaking issues.

The guy literally blames stock intakes for Turbo failures. has gone on the record about it.

Update on oil consumption: Shawn finally sent me the larger drain hose and smaller restrictor last week. I have now installed the drain and swapped my large restrictor to the smaller one. Logging oil level to see if issue is fixed ?

I figured I would chime in here since I have a DAW6769 that has been on the car for roughly 6 months or so. I personally have not experienced any oil leak or consumption issues since it has been on the car. With that being said, I’ve had multiple people PM about the DAW and I always try to be objective with my response. While I have no encountered any problems, it is clear that has not been the case for others. I am happy with its performance, but that might change down the road haha Pure seems to have taken corrective action to address past issues and their latest product offering appears to be much improved. I plan to push the turbo to its limits and if it takes a shit, I will probably upgrade to top mount.

Also, did some 100-200 draggy runs, here’s the best one. These are my first ever draggy runs, but I was told at my power level I should be able to get 6.8s 100-200. I will do some more runs soon with cooler weather at night.

Were you able to improve on this in lower temps? I’ve been doing some 94 octane pulls recently. The car dyno’d at 550whp on mainline hubs which is ~ 591whp SAE DJ at 24PSI.

MT trans remnant turbo. Ambient was definitely helping. Granny shift was .4 seconds
