Sad to see it go as well, but the language here gives me hope that there will be a Mk. VI. Maybe even with less BMW and more Toyota, though I wouldn’t be mad if the B58 sticks around or it goes by the wayside for the S58.

There were rumors swirling that the MKVI would be powered by the GR Corolla’s engine or something similar with a hybrid variant. We are entering a new generation of automobiles and emissions I highly doubt the MKVI will have a 6 cylinder

Not the GR Corolla's 3cyl engine-- A new turbo 4cyl 2.0L engine that hasn't been released yet, only announced and showcased. That engine is also slated for the new Celica and MR2 and other models.

A70TTR told us a long while back that Toyota has for years been working toward a lineup that by 2026 will offer at minimum a hybrid trim level of every single model. A 2.0L displacement variant works well for certain markets in which tax brackets are much higher above a 2.0L engine and this would work within that constraint to allow for as many sales of the chassis as possible in as many markets as possible.

That doesn't mean it's the only engine the MKVI can have if Toyota wants to do do something else in addition.

I still say... since they went to all the trouble of designing a motorsport I-3 turbo engine... what's to stop them from combining two of them together and making a new I-6 for limited use cases (such as in the Supra and Lexus coupe)?

From the time the GR Yaris was first announced several years ago my immediate thought was why they even bothered to design an I-3 instead of an I-4 (well they did that too as it turns out but didn't use it for a few years until now) unless they planned to combine two of them into an I-6.

Mere mortals like us do not have the money, facilities, resources and engineers at our disposal to do something like that... but a major automaker that designs new engines from scratch certainly can.

I mean... the Supra MKVI will already be sharing chassis architecture with the new Lexus RWD coupe that replaces the RC and LC (same as it was in the 90's with the MKIV and Z30 Soarer/SC).

I could see such an engine having its development costs amortized very well by using it in various states of tune in a few Toyota and Lexus models which have rear differentials.

A hybrid gas-electric trim level of even the next Supra is a given just as much as it will be for any newly designed upcoming Toyota and Lexus models.

I don’t think that’s quite right. The Australian Track Edition is the European EVO.
Only reason I ask is I’ve ordered the base spec (3.0), but I’m not sure if the suspension and other tweaks will filter into the car.
If not I may have to cough up the $ for the ‘Track Edition’.

Same question popped into my head too, will hold off getting an uprated one made until more info becomes available I think.

I didn't see any specific information regarding what Model Year these editions will be sold as. We know G29/J29 production is running through 03/2026, so MY 2026 will be the end, but they haven't really clarified on these, just claiming an open order date of 01/2025..

In all fairness to the final edition, at $100k it'd be competing with the 718 GT4 and with all the Supra GT4 parts/aero going on it, as well as the power/torque bump, and upgrade in braking capabilities and cooling. I wouldn't be surprised if they were faster than the GT4 on track. Especially with how punchy the B58 is

I'm sure the GT4 probably still has a better communicating chassis/steering feel and shifter feel but if you're just chasing numbers, who cares
