Does it throw rocks etc since its fully open?
Tested for over a year on street and 4 track weekends (novice with instructor on board), my car has been driven twice by fast people, one a respected member of this community and the other a professional racer that helped me fine tune the car mechanics (he’s a world champ - but I digress)Does it throw rocks etc since its fully open?
I wonder if any1 used the RL vents yet..
Well fhe benefit seems to be pretty big as like i said, Vers told me the vents shifted aero balance 10% forward on ventus5 package. Also Zebulon recommended them to me.Tested for over a year on street and 4 track weekends (novice with instructor on board), my car has been driven twice by fast people, one a respected member of this community and the other a professional racer that helped me fine tune the car mechanics (he’s a world champ - but I digress)
1. Dispelling myths: there is NO debris being shot on the windshield, I am not a danger to other drivers or the general public. The engine bay does not get destroyed by rocks. This design does prevent debris and dust intrusion into the engine bay (two piece design)
2. The truth: reviewing the actual Carbon fiber aplique for damage only the front wall of it gets very small debris. There is no significant residue anywhere else. (I applied Amazon-bought cheap ppf only on that wall to keep it new) no tire grain or bigger rocks etc.
3. The awesome: during rain, a fine mist floats at the level of the exit and when braking hard in the dark very fine sparks are seen 5 inches on the air. It’s like my very own tiny fireworks display ?
as far as the benefits: there is a theoretical benefit when it comes to improve front grip and brake cooling. In the MkV There is some extrapolated data on computer fluid dynamics, and obviously real world wind tunnel and performance data on almost any respectable race car. My car overall feels very good, but that’s the result of many factors, I can’t really pinpoint anything specific. Also Im Novice so my senses on how a car feels are still in the early phase of development
also: nobody can tell me now that the car has fake vents ?
I am sure someone who's crafty can easily do it. Yesterday I had the chance to examine a Lambo closely and it has a very light aluminum mesh on their vents.Would it be possible to add a mesh net somewhere there, just in case?
Lies. The front of my car is spotless from track use.At a track there are going to be pebbles and rubber marbles flying everywhere from the other cars kicking them up in front of you (especially if you're in an org that teaches tight proximity like nasa). Just look at your front bumper and hood after a weekend, they are going to be filthy regardless of whether you have vents or not.
I accidentally discovered that the Pink solvent in Dr Color Chip kit gets rid of rubber like its butter. Quarter sized on a microfiber towel and reapply to towel as needed. No elbow grease required.Sending Bryan DIRECTLY to the detailing forum.
In all seriousness, I find nothing more effective than Meguiars fine polish for getting OPR (other people's rubber) and other general track gunk off the front of the car. Bug and tar remover does squat, and Goo Gone/Goof Off/Xenit still requires a LOT of elbow grease. The solvent in the polish and the fine abrasive requires the least pain and suffering.
Any clue how to get this stuff outside of a paint-chip kit?I accidentally discovered that the Pink solvent in Dr Color Chip kit gets rid of rubber like its butter. Quarter sized on a microfiber towel and reapply to towel as needed. No elbow grease required.
I use R3 or Molecule Comp and the tire rubber comes right off.Sending Bryan DIRECTLY to the detailing forum.

Agree R3 works but not advised on ceramic coatings.I use R3 or Molecule Comp and the tire rubber comes right off.
The chipped/scratched paint/headlights I need something else to fix.![]()

if you have buy a splitter with tunnels in them, and do not have behind the tire fender venting or top fender venting you severely diminish the effectiveness of the tunnels. the air needs a place to go. in the same category, splitter support rods also reduce the performance of the splitter.Well fhe benefit seems to be pretty big as like i said, Vers told me the vents shifted aero balance 10% forward on ventus5 package. I have the Max downforce front splitter from Verus which has the tunnels. The splitter has support rods, but attached to the crash bar behind the front bumper.if you have buy a splitter with tunnels in them, and do not have behind the tire fender venting or top fender venting you severely diminish the effectiveness of the tunnels. the air needs a place to go. in the same category, splitter support rods also reduce the performance of the splitter.
