Was about to send mine in to be unlocked, but I keep getting "ECU is not supported" after entering VIN.

Is it not possible to unlock a 2024 MT?

Yes, for some reason a lot of the 2024's get flagged. I think it might be because there are some Gen 3's starting that year. Not in a Supra, but other bmw's.

Email/Call.

It’s worth the price and time to send it out. Unplugging my JB4 felt so damn good. What a difference in drivability from a custom map JB4 to the OTS MHD maps.

weirdly when i sent mine to Femto they loaded up a OTS bm3 stg 2 tune to my ecu so the drive to the tuner was 'different"........ I thought, gee.....must be cold outside as it's pulling harder. The baseline dyno pull was a shock!

I haven't tried it since as the two custom tunes I am very happy with the custom tunes on it now that have been tweaked a few times. ( I especially hated the differential throttle mappings so made it so it's close to the stock map in sport mode)

Yeah. While the post was pretty tame, I just think it's funny how some Americans think its an aberration and complete injustice that the US doesn't have something. 😅

I don't think the Femto unlock will ever migrate to the US.. or anywhere else for that matter.
Uh wut. That's dumb. Some of us are just cheap, plain and simple. I cant justify $2000 for a tune. I won't. I could make it happen, I just can't justify it in my head. I won't. Has nothing to do with whatever TF you're talking about.

Firstly, you literally own a car worth what, 50k+.. you may have chosen the wrong platform. 😂 Secondly, no one said you have to unlock it - I thought I would never do it too, lol. Thirdly, FEMTO costs ≈$1000USD + Software. Lastly, if an unlock comes stateside - it won't - it will more than likely be the same price, minus shipping.

So why is a US unlock needed again?

Agreed. Even $2k is a decent price for an overall tune.

Enter " DME8FF_R" in the DME section for now and it will go through

Totally understand and we get this from plenty clients too - along I will wait for stateside unlock, can't afford the downtime for a week etc. Truth is the solution is and has been available for several years now through FEMTO.

If you are serious about tuning the car then you can get it fully tuned with all Custom ROM features etc. If you aren't serious about tuning the car or unwilling to fork up the costs to make it happen - then that's your own choice - those situations your only option is Piggybacks etc. Those serious about tuning their vehicles already have the solution available.

Chose wrong platform how? Like you said I don't have to unlock. I was just saying some of us don't do it because we can't justify the price. Afford? Sure, but justify? Nah, still no.

The car is fine stock, imo. Id tune just to tune if it was "normal" process.
