I changed mine at 500 miles, and replaced with Mobil 1: 0w40 euro formula.
Ordered the oil filter from BMW.

I already had ramps so I just used those. The entire process took less than 15 min. I'm sure someone else here used jack stands though.Silly question, for those who have changed their oil, what jack points did you use? Did you need a special puck for the jack?
If you arenāt using ramps, than yes I would use the pucks. Should be able to get them from any aftermarket bmw shop (pelican parts, ECS Tuning, heck maybe even Amazon.Silly question, for those who have changed their oil, what jack points did you use? Did you need a special puck for the jack?
The service manual says in it that you can use anything up to 5w40. I asked on an engine oil forum (BTOG) and specifically mentioned that some BMW engines like thinner oil for the tight bearing clearances, and they all said run the thickest you can basically: https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/foru...243922/oil-for-bmw-b58-engine-in-toyota-supraFor the people using heavier than ow-20 weights, won't there be an issue using heavy weight oils in this car? I was told by a BMW enthusiasts to only use the spec 0w-20 for the tight clearances in this car.
I'm surprise by the BTOG forum on how you should use the thickest. I guess if you're tracking it, it would make sense for just the track use. Also what are you doing tracking this thing when you have only 500 miles?????The service manual says in it that you can use anything up to 5w40. Personally I would run a 5w40. I Checked the owners manuals for the Supra and in the US they recommend 0w20 to 0w30 but checking the owners manual in the UK it goes all the way up to 5w40. It only gives you a statement regarding higher viscosity oil usage saying..."Viscosity classes with a high viscosity grade can increase fuel consumption". Thats fine by me lol. Id take protections over a negligible tick in MPG. I run 5w40 in my BMW 335i and still have mpg higher than advertised and with good oil analysis reports as well.I'm surprise by the BTOG forum on how you should use the thickest. I would probably go middle ground to the 5w-30 oil, I don't plan to track mine much and if I do, maybe I'll just put in some thicker oil on my track trip.
