I would call Trucrane. CES only charged flat shipping,$150, from there facility to your house. Trucrane may be having it shipped directly from PTB to you which would then you pay duty/tariff on top. I paid $3500 shipped from CES in January 25. There prices seems to have dropped recently
Well CES is charging $800 for shipping to CA lol. So I started looking around for other options.

Is the above the same PTB clutch as the one sold by CES? Price difference is pretty big. I can't find any details on difference but the product descriptions are nearly matching.

CES: https://cesmotorsport.com/shop-all-parts/ols/products/ptb-clutch-upgrade-g8x-ptb-clt-pgr-g8x1
They’re the same, i purchased through trucrane, but i got the DMF one instead which was a few hundred more, still significantly cheaper than CES.

I'm assuming you ordered with Damper and Standard Pressure plate?

How do you like the clutch?
Yes i did Organic/Sinter
Damper
Standard

clutch honestly feels amazing, the engagement is a bit earlier than oem but that doesn’t bother me, if you don’t give it enough gas it’ll sometimes boggle whereas stock clutch you don’t really run into that problem. but other than that it’s amazing and feels great. i daily drive my car to work and no issues.

Hey Everyone.

After a 2 month weight I finally recieved my PTB clutch, just to clarify I opted for Organic/organic, Single mass flywheel & Performance pressure plate.

I ended up going through one company which unbeknownst to me went through ANOTHER company, who then went and ordered it through PTB themselves, so the delivery process ended up being overly complex, so hopefully knowone else has to do this.

Fitted it pretty much straight away because if 15yrs in the trade has taught me anything its that wrong parts are ordered all the time and I was very pessimistic about everything working/fitting correctly.

Installation: Gearbox removal on this car is actually pretty easy, first go took about 2hrs and it was out, the fact you dont have to remove any interior trims to disconnect the shifter is really satisfying, raise the car up on a hoist and it stays there for the rest of the process.

Kit doesnt come with a clutch alignment tool so i semi tightened the pressure plate enough so the clutch discs could still be moved, dummy fitted the gearbox then removed it and tightened the pressure plate which ended up working and the gearbox ended up sliding back on virtually straight away. The most pain in the ass part of the process was the release bearing. I forgot to take a photo so i pinched one from another bloke having the issue when he installed his clutch for reference but ill try explain anyway.
The release bearing has two mounting positions (longer & shorter) based on the shoulders that press againt the pressure plate, I searched here and found one person who advised to use the shorter mounting position so thats what I did, fitted the gearbox, assembled roughly 50% of everything then checked clutch travel and engagement, it felt wrong, clutch pedal had way too much initial travel and clutch engagement felt weird, pulled the box back out, swapped the release bearing to the longer mounting position, re-assembled, checked pedal travel again and it felt pretty close to stock, clutch pick up point is very early, basically instantly as soon as you release it grabs but figured this is partially due to the clutch not being worn in at all.

Writing this ive only driven the car about 50km's so far but full throttle feels fine, no slipping, no clutch smell at all, as mentioned previously in this thread the chatter is actually almost non-existent. I found there to be a slight increase in reverberation through the car at high RPM which im putting down to the single mass flywheel, but its not bad. Rev's do rev more freely but its not super free like an n/a race car or anything.
Overall weight reduction with the Single mass is approx 7kg for anyone interested.

How’s the clutch feel with the performance pressure plate? Dailyable? Any difference in how hard it feels? Currently looking to get this exact setup, thanks in advance. @Schady1990

So release bearing longer position was best?

I remember someone saying shorter as well. Can anyone else Confirm?

100% Dailyable, PP is barely any heavier, honestly the clutch engagement point is earlier, but otherwise its not that much different.

@Eastwood I'll be honest, the OEM release bearing matches the shorter length of the aftermarket release bearing, so Based off that I opted for the shorter position first and as I said in my other post, the pedal feel was pretty shit, heaps of slack up top and an uncertain ammount of release with the clutch pedal full depressed, so i switched it. This would be a non-issue if the instructions the kit comes with that states the torque sppecs just simply stated what position to mount the release bearing, so if you havent ordered/fitted the kit yet, I'd contact PTB and just say what position is supposed to be used. But at this stage the current position has been faultless, currently at about 150km's on the clutch while posting this.

I just ordered organic/sinter, with damper, SMF, standard pressure plate from TruCrane. Will update after it’s installed.
Tomorrow I go to install my clutch. I went with the dual mass flywheel. Organic/Organic. Ill update this thread on first impressions when I get the car back.

Got the clutch in. literally drives like stock. the only change is now the bite point is lower. i know some people like to run a pedal stopper, but with how low the clutch engages you would not be able to use it anymore. going to break it in, get some track days in and see how it holds up to abuse
