Yes I saw something but is not out yet... the size is something that they won’t tell?
I know the size of the Pure turbo. But its not my business to tell. We deal with Pure regularly. So they tell us things. But i can't tell as it their info they trusted me with. But i will say, the other option does NOT compare to the Pure Turbo.

I looked around and did not find the info. My question is, with PureTurbo800 Ams downpipe and jb4 tune what am I looking at as far as power increase?

it will depend on a few things.

1.) what fuel will you run? Stock fuel system is good for about 700-750 from what I’ve seen.

2.) what other modifications do you have?

3.) which tuning software will you use?

the numbers for stock fuel system and normal Bpu mods with the pure 800 have ranged all the way between 485whp all the way to 672 with meth and ms109. I would say with a normal tune and 93 you will be about 550whp

93 Octane

It will be just the Pure800 and AMS downpipe

I was hoping to use JB4 piggback for warranty purposes.

Im not sure if JB4 has the tuning capability to tune for a new turbo.

you say you are worried about warranty but are going to swap turbos, lol. Might as well go with a proper tuning solution if you are going far enough to swap turbos imho.

As an ardent MHD fan, many many n54s with upgraded turbos or singles ran JB4-only successfully. Contact Terry of BMS who makes the JB4 units and he can likely steer you in his preferred direction to meet your needs. That's what's technically possible. I would highly advise getting a custom tune for the DME using any of the flasher tools available on the market, mhd, bootmod3, titan, etc. Additionally, it is not uncommon on heavily modded n54s to stack JB4 units ontop of back end flashes (BEF) with MHD underneath. Again, I'd reach out to a BMW tuner you can trust and Terry to steer you toward a good path.

I am not sure this idea would work, that's why I asked. I know swapping a turbo and downpipe is also a big modification but easily reversible in a matter of couple hours. If I do custom tune and revert back to stock tune, Toyota can still tell there was a tune. With the JB4 removed only way they can tell is if they dig through logs to see boost levels. I may be wrong though.

I know a custom tune is the best way to go and also best way to squeeze most power out safely. I just dont want to 100% blow away the warranty, yet. I've heard and read some great things about JB4 with the german cars.

Thank you for the input, I will definitely reach out to Terry to see if he can fill me in alittle better about if this idea will work.

Any update on the trans tunes??? I’m ready to do a turbo swap but am reluctant to do so until I know we can utilize the power. From my understanding there’s a issue with the toque limit on the trans around 600? Had anyone been able to crack the trans module so we can either Obd tune or worse case... bench tune the trans.
Looking for a fix ASAP.

Thanks,
Justin

significantly smaller than the Pure upgrade. i wont say the actual size as its not my information to share. But the Pure upgrade is comparable to a PTE6262. whereas that DriftMotion option is not on the same flow level
Actually, the Suprastore talks about the Pure turbo. The P700 is a 60mm compressor wheel, which is not that far off from the 57mm that Drift Motion has. Plus Drift Motion has a 60mm in the works, but it requires an adaptor for the intake inlet.

Understandable. Pure ripping people off with a first turbo upgrade in the market would want to keep the hype up. Why wouldn't they just publish the specs of their product on the web ???? Vargas has a B58 turbo same size for $1,400 and the Supra fitment is almost released. With 2 companies offering the same product soon I bet their cockiness will end.

Im not sure they are ripping people off. The Pure 800 is bigger than the Pure700. And is equivalent to a 6262.

If youre comparing to the pure 700 then yes the size difference is closer but Pure still outflows it.

Vargas to Pure. Ill go Pure everyday. Vargas turbo you may want to google issues with turbo failures. Exponentially higher than pure. Its not always about price. However i know as of late Vargas has been using more "garrett" chras. So failures should be kess if that's the case
