Understandable. Pure ripping people off with a first turbo upgrade in the market would want to keep the hype up. Why wouldn't they just publish the specs of their product on the web ???? Vargas has a B58 turbo same size for $1,400 and the Supra fitment is almost released. With 2 companies offering the same product soon I bet their cockiness will end.
Just because they do not release specs on their kits, does not mean they are ripping people off
Pure are very well known for the reliability and power of their kits.

I do not want to turn this thread into Vargas vs Pure discussion as i like both brands but i feel its unfair to throw accuse them of ripping people off all because you do not like their pricing or lack of info

Actually, the Suprastore talks about the Pure turbo. The P700 is a 60mm compressor wheel, which is not that far off from the 57mm that Drift Motion has. Plus Drift Motion has a 60mm in the works, but it requires an adaptor for the intake inlet.
I don't believe the Pure700 is sold anymore by PureTurbos. The Pure800 has a larger wheel than the Pure700 did.

*Update. It may be possible for you to special order it from PureTurbos... I haven't confirmed this.

For future reference I am able to order in Pure 700's for those wanting them. I think they are a great balance.

What would determine the right turbo for a person?

Say one only plans to use 91oct or ethanol mixes but no meth?

Question is, the 21 kinda changes power dynamic a bit right? Where pure700 is a good balance of stock and high end power in 20, the 21 may actually do well on stock with fbo. Do we have any comparisons yet?

same turbo. 2021 will have same power as 2020 on stock turbo and upgrades. dynamic doe,t change really. 2021 tune change simply reduces the boost taper off over 5000rpms.

Yeah that's what I mean though, given 21 doesn't taper as much in stock form

A lot of this is from a more aggressive tune just from the lower compression. The dynamic isnt really a difference. On higher tier fuels and larger turbines I don't forsee the 2021 being beneficial until you get to the very high power in which we might start needing more flow through the head.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread. If the 21’s have different turbos and hold more boost on too, why swap it out with a pure800? In theory, since the 21 are already pushing at least 400hp to the crank, wouldnt it make more financial sense to just tune it?

they don't have bigger turbos,, and dont hold more boost persay. The power difference between the 20 and 21 stock for stock, comes SOLEY from the tune change from the factory to simply carry more boost to redline over 5000-5500rpm. whereas the 20 was tuned to taper off.

Considering looking at a Pure 700 for a 21 on JB4, starting conversation with BMS soon. Can't unlock to go EcuTek yet but I'm wondering what I can get out of a Pure 700 over stock turbo on a JB4 - if you had to take a shot in the dark what would you say? Complete waste of money? I'll already have full exhaust &JB4 w/ EWG - I hadn't planned on going a port injection route, and I'm not even sure where to start or what all I'd need and if it's again worthwhile or possible to do without the ability to do an actual custom tune - so we could assume Pure 700 on 93 oct or E30/E40, just curious on your thoughts.

Pure800 turbo drives great, BTW. Standard mode seems no louder than stock, even with the DP. Sport is more throaty and I can hear a bit of turbo whistle (but nothing obtrusive), and for sure a lot more prevalent popping. NO cels, no lag, but much, much more pull and the trans cal is perfect - super crisp shifts. I believe this tune is just a bit more boost than stock. Clearly, there is a lot more power available with more boost and supporting fuel, etc. For me, this is a perfect fit for this car and should be something offered from the factory at some point -- 560 flywheel and oem manners.
You running anything other than DP and pure 800? I want to have a "sleeper" and want to do full bolt on but don't want it super loud.

This is my dyno with Pure 800, downpipe, catless exhaust system. 99 RON fuel here in the UK, so equal to 93-95 octane US.

Tuned with ecutek.

I would've already gone this route if not for having a damn '21 stuck on a JB4. No offense to JB4, they do what they can, but it's meh compared to a tune.
