I've read this BS before. If they've already spent the R&D to test and develop and perhaps some tooling, what's the big deal? So what if Porsche and BMW are selling less M/T. They clearly see a reason for it for the purist and release it. Vette buyers and Supra buyers are clearly not in the same boat and it's not just about 0 to 60 times. Whole point of M/T is being in more control and more connected to the car. Why do they have M/T for 86??? ZF was available back then and would have been much better than slow-ass Aisin A/T.. Also, the reference vehicle was Porsche Cayman which has M/T!!
Make your deal with whatever supplier for a low quantity. Have them put like 1 molds/tools with minimal take on shared resources and release it as an option already. 10% of keyboard warriors will buy it, you'll get the credit.

I would be shocked if the cars price tag got that high for a manual version....afterall, Toyota collaborated with BMW to drive costs down not up. They know very well the competition out there in the $80k+ range. There are more "suits" they need to impress before they get the green light to spend more on new features.
