Works for airbag but not for seat position and restraint. You still get errors.
Curious where does the seat position error come from, the control panel not being hooked up?

Also what Ohms resistor?

Been keeping up with this thread since @razorlab started it with the epic write up. ??

Has anybody just utilized bimmer-remote?

I’m sure I could handle doing this myself with protool and another dongle but I’d also have to buy an android tablet and it seems more economical to just have a remote code session to take care of it.

Just dropping by to say thank you for this post. Got both of my sparco qrt-r installed with no lights.

That’s my seat ?☝ - Looks even better with two of them in there…

So will my cruise control work with this coded out? With the harness unplugged and the race seat installed on my 22 premium, it disabled the cruise.
I don't see why not. That said, I don't think I have used my cruise at all yet. lol
Does your cruise control not work too? ??
Mine does, when you disconnected the oem seat from the harness coming from the floor did you pop out the specific 2 pin connector for the seatbelt receptical? If you connect those then cruise control will work. At that point you'll just get the "Driver restraint error" and everything should work as usual.
This is exactly what I need. I’ll see if they can do the airbag light as well per this thread or their expensive shop coding tool(s).

Not sure if anyone else went the pay to play route as well. But it does save you money when you save them time pointing out how & where to find the resources to do it. Much kudos to all y’all’s ✌?. Those 90 minute drives to Sebring or heaven forbid 2.5 hours to Homestead would be awful without cruise control ?

For people who do not use Protool, here is what needs to be done. I did it with Bimmer Utility.

If you only have the drivers side bucket seat.
Enter ACSM5, select expert mode

Select "3000 Ausstattung" (3000 Equipment)
Select Function
Disable (nitcht_aktiv) the following 3 functions

ZUENDKREIS_1
SITZPOSITIONSERKENNUNG_SITZMEMORY_FAHRER
SITZPOSITIONSENSOR_FA (FA is driver side, BF is passenger side)

For people that have installed race bucket seats, I just confirmed that you can use Bimmergeeks Protool app to code out the airbag and seat position error.

Did it myself today in like 5 minutes.

Requirements:
Bimmergeeks Protool app (android only)
Protool Master License
OBD wifi adapter (Kies, Thor, or anything from Bimmergeeks) I used Kies

Steps:
  1. Put car into accessory mode by pushing start button without foot on the brake.
  2. Buckle seat belt (keeps car from going to sleep)
  3. Enter diagnostic mode by tapping the start button three times fast (without foot on brake!)
  4. Connect to car with Protools app
  5. Find airbag section in Protool
  6. Select "coding"
  7. Select "edit coding"
  8. Select "sector 1: 0001B29"
  9. Confirm data backup
  10. Select "3000 equipment"
Now, once in "3000 equipment"...

If you only have the drivers side bucket seat (I currently only have the drivers seat installed)

Disable the following:

ZUENDKREIS_1
SITZPOSITIONSERKENNUNG_SITZMEMORY_FAHRER

If you have replaced BOTH your seats with bucket seats, disable all of the following:

ZUENDKREIS_1
ZUENDKREIS_2
CISMATTE_BEIFAHRER
SITZPOSITIONSERKENNUNG_SITZMEMORY_FAHRER
SITZPOSITIONSENSOR_BF

Then select "finalize"

After that is done, close the app and turn the car off fully (once the green LED on the shifter turns off) and then restart the car.

No more dash lights or warnings!

Ive followed these steps exactly but my lights still stay on. It shows its deactivated on my phone and other codes I've added are working too but for some reason the lights won't go away and my cruise control is still deactivated :(

What do you have plugged into the large yellow seat connector? There should be one thing left connected.

Let me add to the thread. I have two bucket seats in the car with the airbag errors coded out. I recently changed my driver and passenger seats during which I unplugged the passenger side resulting in the passenger airbag warning coming back on.

To fix it I re-enabled SitzlehnenVerriegelung_Fahrer, finalized and did an ignition cycle, then re-disabled SitzlehnenVerriegelung_Fahrer. Error went away. After re-enabling it I got a driver airbag error but no passenger warning, after disabling it again both went away.

Hope this helps someone.

After doing some research, it looks like the seat belt receptacle cannot be jumped with a wire or resistor on Modern bmws.

"The creator tried various resistor values (1 ohm to 2,000 ohms) but still experienced either the screaming seat belt light or the airbag light returning (0:56-1:04)"

The reason this matters is because attaching the oem seat belt receptacle to your seat bracket is either minorly inconvenient or a huge pain in the ass, depending on your seat and bracket combo. The wire isn't long enough to attach everything out of the car, so you either need to do it with the seat all the way in, or teetering on the door sill.

Going forward, I will probably buy a spare receptacle with a dummy plug inserted, and let that whole assembly just rest under the seat. And then chop the connector off the OEM receptacle and leave it attached to the seat bracket.
