I wish we knew exactly when this was coming out. I read spring 2021 but that pretty much now. Iā€™m seriously thinking about waiting to see what the price and hp is of this versus getting a supra.

I think it looks good. I wonā€™t consider it over an a90 for personal reasons, but it looks good.

Nissan sees the a90 and responds.. I sure wish Toyota had been as competitive... say, back when they saw Nissan release the 350z back in 2002. :( if they did, weā€™d probably be sitting at an a100 right now at the very minimum

During that time the 3rd gen MR2 was in the same price range as the 350z and RX8.

However, I recall @A70TTR saying we were suppose to get a new Supra back in 2011 based on the 2007 FTHS concept, but with the 2008 recession Toyota scrapped it. :(

Thatā€™s true, good point. However, it felt like the Celica and Mr2 were just chugging along while (as we know of course) the Supra was dead. I still remember back in 2004/2005 when I was in a Toyota dealership, I saw that the sportiest looking cars in that showroom were a (210hp) Camry SE and a Matrix XRS. Nothing against the 2ZZGE cars, but it was just sad times, and Iā€™m just glad we arenā€™t living in those times now.

But I give Nissan credit for having a competitive spirit and responding to Toyotaā€™s a90. If the a90 wasnā€™t around, I could easily picture myself buying this Nissan?

Overall the new Z looks like a winner. I like it so far with the exception of the grill. Personally for me the rectangle grill will take some getting used to. Hopefully the perspective looks a little different from a higher viewing angle. Or maybe it will grow on me when I see one in real life.

In all fairness I was not a fan of the Supra's styling initially. It's style slowly grew on me after seeing them in real life. I think it's a great design now.

A advantage for Nissan was coming to the market after the Supra. They get to see their competitors product and response from the public. They have a benchmark. It will be interesting to see how well the chassis tuning and handling will be. They can offer a product that fills a void within the market segment. Mainly in this case a manual transmission.

Looking forward to the new Z. It's nice to have some competition and choices.

When it comes to track performance, I honestly don't see this thing coming close to the mkv with it's cornering and balance etc. When reviews come out, I expect them to just say it feels like a slightly more dialed in 370 nismo, or they say it's mediocre. I still think it's going to be great all around car for the street and tuning though.

A friend just sent me some info regarding the Z35. All I can say is it will be less then $40k, V6 turbo only (no 4 cylinder), and weight about the same as the 370z.

I know its the VR30 but based on the link it appears to have the Q60 engine cover.

But it's suppose to be an affordable car and by that would probably eat into GTR's sales.

Wow, I wonder if anyone here will have buyer's remorse.
