Plan:
Custom 6.5" door panels.
Relocate trunk latch button.
6.5" 2-way active fronts.
Move front 4" (ES 100 K) woofers to rear & delete rear oem tweeters.
Run rears as 'rear fill' with no tweeters installed.

Sooo freakin' worth it!

I'm definitely doing that... I'll save money by keeping the rest of it stock, but those 6.5" door pods are definitely gonna happen. Not only should it sound much better, but you've resolved the "dust catcher" problem as well!

I've hated those cubbies since I first got in my MKV - it's such a tease. "Oh, look here... you could put something here. Maybe some really thin driving gloves? While you figure that out I'm going to collect dust and lint that will be nearly impossible to vacuum out of me." ?

Sam is correct the mObridge amp has been giving me issues, so we may have to upgrade the heart of the system. Something that can compliment these Focal speakers. Stay tuned for Stage 3 of this build.

Got an estimate today to replace the mObridge and go HELIX for my processing and power. I will be visiting them tomorrow to make my deposit, get scheduled, and find a suitable location for the remote control.

Need some ideas on where we can mount the 'DIRECTOR CREATE' remote control in an integrated manner that makes it look factory.

Shop is very capable of any fabrication so throw all ideas my way.

What issues are you having with the mObridge amp specifically? Configuration problems with the DSP or power quality issues with the amp itself or ??

The patterns and symptoms seem to indicate a power supply issue to the amp. I also noticed the amp does not turn off with the car, draining my battery, at least in theory.

Can't I got wireless charging there.

We decided to go with the URC.3 controller instead. The P TWO amp includes a SRC controller that will be installed alongside the URC.3. The shop had another GR Supra there and the location they found for the URC.3 is quite innovative, never would have thought of that location.

I guess everything happens for a reason. The replacement will put the whole system on another level of SQ.

We will be replacing the mObridge amp with two HELIX amps. The HELIX P SIX will provide 120w rms @4-ohms to each of the 6 Focal speakers; tweeter, woofers, and rear fill. The HELIX P TWO will provide 280w rms @4-ohms to each of the two Focal subs. We will be using the HELIX SDMI25 to convert the signal to the P SIX via TOSLINK and the P SIX will then send processed signals to the P TWO via TOSLINK as well. Keeping the whole system digital.
