FEMTO has been working on other solutions for the community for quite some time now.

Last couple days/weeks have been fruitful in regards to newer competition and options available in the market - but we will see where things fall once everyone can confirm all relevant details specific to each unlock, Custom code offerings, Tuning suite such as Bootmod3, MHD, Ecutek, etc.

FEMTO solution will still need to be sent to them for the original unlock - but after the original unlock can be used with any major Tuning tool to read/write/update tunes (usually only shops have these tools and most individuals will find it hard to stomach the costs associated). We should be able to offer this as early as next week but as a heads up will still require the ECU being sent out to FEMTO for the original readout.

Their goal is with this evolution is to allow ANY tool to be used after the initial unlock. Even some tools cheaper than the common names many of you have discussed here. Will also prevent having to send the ECU back for any Re-Unlock procedure such as Dealer updates/software updates/accidental relocks, Removing tune for smog/paperwork, etc. This in itself will breed competition, hopefully with lower pricing to get vehicles tuned, but also open the channel to wider support structure with regard to tuning. Hopefully these updates help to push the platform forward even further!
If I have already have a FEMTO unlock can a bench unlock be done remotely now?

oh... Gee im sure they must have been... just.. absolutely hard at work to find that full unlock solutions and not sit on it since they had the monopoly in the market. Competition finds a unlock solution state side... then MAGICALLY they have a full unlock solution. What a coincidence

Evolution?... really? I can now choose ecutek and don't have to send out my DME whenever i update with ISTA..... whoopie. Competition, yea... what competition other than autotuner which rip apart the DME to perform some type of fault injection voltage attack, or something.
You haven't been keeping up with the updates in this regard - so might be best to get caught up then rejoin us here once you fully understand what is actually going.

Here I will spoon feed it for you - Autotuner doesn't require you to "rip apart the DME" anymore with their latest update and is also a cheaper option than FEMTO as its been for the last several years with their latest development.

FEMTO has new further developments past this.

In the next "couple weeks" - we will all understand fully the details and how it affects each case scenarios. Hopefully we can agree to disagree - that new options and developments can't hurt the B58 platform though?

Chances are yes - and will be confirmed within the next several days. This is because your original readout is in their possession from original Unlock and will be fine to do anything future stateside moving forward due to this without requiring to be sent out again.

I already know this. So they don't require higher precision in the voltage attack. They now have mastered the pins on the DME connector. Good for them

Sorry i only accept gerber apple sause

Surely you can explain further.

Let's just agree that you're another blood sucking vendor on this forums. I don't blame you, california shop rent must be expensive.

Lol you gave me a good laugh NGL. Voltage hacks are so 1990s though. Anyways have a good rest of the weekend!

For anyone interested, glitching is super cool. risky, but super cool. Here's a video from a defcon talk last year on how someone managed to use it to dump firmware on one of Apple/Texas Instruments new USB-c controller:

Like 99% of it went over my head, but for any nerds around, it's still cool.

Thank you for explaining further. Something i wish our vendors would do instead of spam fucking the forums with their special discounts. (not directed toward speed logic, i'm just talking in general)

last week i paid femto 1050Euro to unlock my ecu which i believe is partial unlock?

i still havent shipped my ecu so i just sent them email to see if i can upgrade and get their new unlock which should be full unlock i assume.
let me know! Mine is flying to femto now. Would be cool to just do full unlock if theres no drawback.

Well... I saw their BF deal which seems like a partial unlock...
Where is the info for the full unlock?

I'm kinda worried now that Kies has pulled out, competition is one less (with zero in the US) so does that mean back to monopoly again?
Yes AT has the option as well but we need a US company.

I'll probably get roasted now.
I bid you good day!

Per their comment in their IG, Femto’s full unlock is going to be available

If you've waited this long , might as well wait for full bench unlock
/raiseshand I been waiting for the American, ahem, "local" option that's included with the tune where you never even realize they performed an unlock cause you're there for a tune, not ripping your ECU out and shipping it overseas for days to weeks before you can even begin tuning.

I can't justify the price of tuning this thing and since the Supra is overkill at stock levels, I think I can wait. BUT...am I waiting or am I hoping because something's gotta give, haha. I want to tune it just because, but I don't want to tune it using the current method and total price. It's already been so long...

Not a Corvette.
Both Femto and AutoTuner now offer full unlocks now, which means the DME basically operates like a pre 06/2020 DME. You can use whatever tuning suite you want, and if the DME becomes locked from ISTA update, you can just bench unlock it at home or a local shop.

They both cost €250 with AutoTuner shipping being a bit less.

It's kind of a no brainer now, if you can go without a operable car for a week or so. If not, pay up and use KIES in the United States for $1800.

This is correct and as per usual @razorlab is always on the edge of knowing what is current and up to date for the SupraMKV owners. Much respect for him and his willingness to help others on this forum with updates.

Both similar cost for unlock itself (€250).. Autotuner likely a cheaper shipping option, and quicker turn around for those in the states due to less distance traveled. We offer both unlock options without issue both through Autotuner or FEMTO. You guys can also do these both as an end user without direct help from someone like us or a shop etc.

Unfortunately car still does have to be down for a few days to pull ECU, ship, and get back to you for reinstall. This is the hardest part of all for current users even though the cost has substantially gone down due to competition in the last few weeks. If turn around is the issue then Kies is the route to go for quickest turn around but comes at a cost vs the Autotuner/Femto pricing options for the Unlock (not considering turn around, shipping costs, etc). Any questions feel free to ask.

So maybe I missed it, but does anyone know if this allows you to run EcuTek on a >06/2021 DME now? Without having to clone it to an earlier DME?
