Not necessarily an issue per se but today while sitting in line to leave work I noticed my front end would raise up and then lower. It did this a few times and stopped after I put the car into sport mode. I've noticed this before but thought I was imagining things. Anyone else experience this oddity?

I giggled a little when I read this:p. You're not imagining things actually, when you're in D and on the brakes, the torque converter doesn't fully disengage. Sport mode has slightly higher idle RPM and increased torque, so what you're feeling is the change in engine torque, which makes the car squat down a little bit. You can feel it a little more if you're doing launch control.

I don't think sport mode does what you're describing. The engine idle RPM is not different. The tuning is not changed. Shift points are higher and throttle mapping is changed.

I don't get it. Is this happening when you're stationary?

Is this a case of forgotten shipping spacers or something. Is the travel much higher than other cars you've owned/driven..

Yup, in Drive, foot on brake. It rarely happens and spacers are removed. Front comes up a couple of inches then drops back down.

Not a Corvette.
Right, no ride height but struts firming up/relaxing so to speak. Hell I'm grasping at straws here.
That isn't how it works. Does your RPM go up as well when the car lurches? If you put it in Neutral does it do the same thing?

Haven't moved out of gear when I've noticed it but will try next time. RPMs don't fluctuate either.

A couple of inches! Do you mean as you move forward in the cue of cars when you apply throttle the front rises and then when you brake it stays elevated and then seems to drop after a little while when stationary? If so this could be the variable damping system going full front compression damping and holding the front up for a while after it extends then the weight overcomes the damper setting after a while and it drops. Just a thought. How cold is the OAT in the cue?

@lucky phil, OAT was around 70 degrees F. The experience was similar to what you stated but it would actually cycle meaning once it dropped, the front would raise again for a second or two and then drop/compress again. I tried to simulate it this morning by holding the brake and applying power which of course caused the front to raise as normal but it held this position. Maybe it's just a glitch since going into sport mode stopped it without me doing anything else.
