SG and crew really don't like the Supra and seem to take every opportunity to knock it down a peg.

I haven't watched this video, but in the previous Z vs Supra vs 86 they were talking about how the Z is fundamentally better, even if it doesn't perform as well, and all it needs is a complete suspension overhaul. But they don't mention how aftermarket suspension might also improve the Supra.

It's kind of the same with Sam Car Legion. It's always one of the faster cars in the races, but he constantly talks about how he just doesn't like the car.

I've made this same reply to a similar comment in another thread. I don't agree with your take at all. They've made a couple videos where they preferred the driving characteristics of the new Z over the Supra, but they've also praised the Supra several times. They liked it in their first videos on the car, and Mark gave it a lot of praise in their comparison between it, the OG M2, and the G87 M2. Going so far as to saying he'd consider buying one.

A track rat in a Nismo could beat a “skilled” street driver in a Supra

The GT4 Pirelli racers I am friends with, both bmw and Supra, say that the GT4 Supra is more of a handful on the track, but a skilled racer is faster in the Supra than the m4. Supra always want to rotate- short wheel base. One reason the m4 is wider and longer
Dunno about everyone else here, but I prefer a car that's more of a handful.

The Supra didn't even have track suspension, brakes, and aero and still did well while being the cheapest by a considerable margin.
Yep. When you have the "Nismo" and "Dark ass" with upgraded performance bits and pieces while Supra is still OEM since 21, begs to differ how (if alive) the GRMN would do.

This pretty much sums it up. However the fan bois for the other 2 cars will argue that the Supra is a pure M car when it performs well, and a beefed up SUV when it underperforms. The level hate is sometimes comical. lol

They loved the car in 2020 when it came out. But if you watch that first video back to back with their follow-ups, the opinion shift is jarring.

But their follow up reviews are pretty critical. Mark in particular criticizes the suspension setup non-stop. He's repeatedly said that the front and rear don't communicate well, it feels like the car is two different cars, the steering is artificial, etc. It comes off as "mark-speak" for, he thinks the car is crap. When he likes a car, he normally follows up those criticisms with how easy their are to solve or overlook. Just like he was a non-stop apologist for the regular Z in the previous reviews, he was pretty blunt in saying that the Z would be the better, faster car with some suspension tweaks. And well, the NISMO has those suspension tweaks and it's not any faster.

Instead, they did the opposite and pointed out how it only won because they replaced the stock PSS tires with something newer. They aren't wrong, but it definitely comes off as trying to knock the car down a peg.

The ending of that video kind of sums it up. Jack is asking the Supra, "how you could lose?" yet the Supra posted the fastest lap time using a regular trim level that's quite a bit cheaper.

Imagine if the Supra came with cheater tires too, like the Dark Horse (Trofeo RS's), instead of decade old PSS's :D
* Yes I know they used RE71RS's for the test.

I sure do wish the springs & dampers on our cars were a little stiffer though.

Fastest car, cheapest price, nicest interior quality, lightest, best looking. Hmmm....glad I bought my MK5 6MT.
Good points
$70k for a mustang that's essentially the same as the s550 from 2013
And $65k for a Z that a 2003 350z with a Q50 engine swap
They've even used the EXACT suspension and brakes from the old 370Z nismo

What was also funny is that the Darkhorse was described as the only car that could be a daily driver. Why would the Supra be disqualified for a daily commute to work unless you need to bring a massive 3D printer to work every day. I don't get their comment.

Most normies demand at minimum the illusion of a back seat. I know so many people who would never in a million years even consider a car without a back seat as a daily... and these people have no kids, no dogs, literally nothing to go into that phantom back seat... they just think a two seat car will somehow be completely unworkable for their "lifestyle" that hasn't needed a back seat up until this point.

Apparently, that appears to be exactly the way Mark and Jack think. I rarely need a back seat. If I do, I just take the wife's vehicle.

I daily mine. Super comfy on trips. Great mpg (like high 20’s low 30’s). Plenty of space for literally… me? Maybe it wouldn’t work for HIM but it’s plenty usable as a daily for most.

As someone already stated:

Comparing 2 track focused / upgraded variants, vs a completely OEM car - and getting beat, speaks for itself.

No matter how much they put the suspension down, it doesn't matter. The supra still performs.

It might just feel more at the edge because they are driving a faster car. :D
