But then again, I've been on the internet and car forums since the 90s.
There are car people (helpful, courteous) and there are car people (thugs, egos).

I was going to suggest using your "dual-citizenship" of Supra ownership and hang out with the BMW guys/forums. Good people over there and same parts and suppliers (Turner, Dinan, Carbahn, Extreme Powerhouse, etc.)
