i'm 30 now. I drove stick since 16. First car was a 2002 Mercury Cougar, 1999 BMW 328i, 2015 Scion FRS. I play a lot of sim racing games and all the cars in the gt3, gt4 class are paddle shifters. Plus I own a 2018 WRX STI thats stick. If i had to do it again, i would still do automatic.

Been driving with stick since I was 21 with Bimmer and Subie. Supra was first auto since then. I do not miss BMW manual, but I dearly miss my STI manual. Unless, I have extra cash for STI, it would have to be Supra being the manual for me.

I've said it elsewhere but if the manual were available when I bought it, Manual. I have the auto now and I'll probably be staying with that unless something crazy happens.
Also as @jtsang25 says, I am knee deep in PPF and parts as well, and while I have the stock parts for everything but the downpipe...its just a pain.

I'm knee deep in parts and ppf to switch over now. Not taking the time to remove all aftermarket stuff and transferring it over or buying everything again.
I spent some good money on ppf and parts also, but if I have some cash freed up by the time manual comes out, I might eat some cost…..

I pass. My first car was a '76 Civic manual. My las manual was an a 95 Escort and when I copped my 2001 Acura 3.2 CL i went a-u-t-o-matic and never looked back. Living in a small city in the South was different then living in a large city in the North....but the game changer for me was driving in traffic. Automatic transmissions are amazing now, you can out shift a "robot" ... computers infiltrated cars and there's no stopping their dominance. Some like nostalgia...when I purchased my 2017 Golf R all I heard was manual equipped owners on the boards crying about the DSG being faster. Crazy.

Same, if it would have been out when I bought it I would have had manual for sure. Now, it's gonna be tough to eat some cash for it, at least short term.

Hopefully this doesn't devolve like the discussion in the other thread but no, I am not interested. My past five sports car were all manual so I have sufficient manual street cred, clout, etc. I have too much invested in this car, plus I honestly like the paddle shifter and having 8 gears.

The other main reason I am not switching is because I don't feel like paying a markup or waiting months and months dealing with supply chain constraints, etc.

As of right now, the only thing that would get to switch out of my car is if there is ever a GRMN version that is actually reasonably priced. Otherwise, I'll keep this another couple years and see about a Z06 or a GT3.

Nope zero interest in changing over. Besides me having parts. I take my Supra to the drags and I’m not going to pay the ridiculous markups to go 1 to 2 seconds slower in the 1/4 mi. I don’t necessarily mind driving stick as a daily but on certain days it’s rough for my commute to work. I am on the list for the Corolla GR and that is a manual I will deal with no matter how shitty traffic is because I need more space.

I'm a truck driver by trade, and have driven a manual for approximately 2.5 million miles in 10, 13, and 18 speed transmissions. If an average person drives 12,000 miles a year, I've driven a manual for over 200 years, and that's not even counting the manual cars I've owned over the years.
So I'm good lol. That itch has been scratched. The GRC I'm getting happens to be a manual, which is fine, but it wasn't a deciding factor.
Any future performance car that comes my way, be it a GRMN Supra or whatever, will most likely be specced with the auto/DCT option if available.

This. Too much effort to transfer/buy/reinstall everything, and I'm not going to be happy with stock now that I've modded.

The auto vs. manual debate is going to tear this forum up lol. It all started with the BMW vs. Toyota. Moved on to the 3.0 vs the 2.0. Now we've got auto vs stick.

Curious at what we'll be arguing about next year.
