Playing around with chatgpt to create what would be my ideal spec. Hard to get it perfect, and chatgpt specifically hates TE37s, but this is pretty close.

It was Teflon...

We looked into cutting the rear bumper, but err what do about the EVAP canister?

What part do you want to cut?
Mine is cut for a diffuser and I still have the canister?

I assume he wants to cut this and then build a tire wall against the diffuser, similar to what Jackie ding did to relieve tire wake.

Jackie and Paul from verus discuss it in this video here around 31:30. The take away is don't bother to do anything fancy with that air. It's so dirty, the most important thing is to get it away from the tire as quickly as possible

Here's another shot from another car

My replacement LiFePO4 battery is in. This was was shipped directly from the manufacturer in China. Came with a SOC of 85% this time.

Considering what happened the last time, and how hard (and expensive) it is to get a LiFePO4 battery here, i'm quite paranoid....

Is 85% SOC good enough to use, or do i have to bring it 100% before using it?

Car is coming along nicely as far as repairs go. Tight schedule though since the next race is on the 30th. And even if we get things done on time, will be going in without having tested the rebuilt transmission, the properly repaired turbo using the parts pure sent me, and the new coilovers installed. Happy days.

Anyway, as i'm always in planning mode, i've started planning the PI build, and these are the parts we're looking at:

- Bootmod3 Rev2 Controller W/Fuel Pressure Sensor - $1,530 (Tuner/Mechanic preference)
- Visconti LPFP - $1,314 (can get a better deal)
- Wagner Fuel Rail Kit - $433 (i have the Wagner manifold)
- Bosch 980cc EV14 Injectors - $480

So about $3,760 in parts. Shipping, tuning/labor TBD.

Torque will remain under 700 just to be extra cautious. Meth will be used for cooling.

Looks like everything started to come together the evening before race day, thanks in large part to the shop. New OEM parts got painted. Vents back onto the new hood, including the new CF 777 one.

Are was still a bit messy here, but that do88 intake is just hnnnnng

Reservoirs tucked nicely on either side back here. At some point will get longer lines to extend them a bit more towards the center

Alcon BBK is in. Didn't install it, for a couple or reasons. First and most importantly, my existing racer 999 pads are brad new with just 1 lap done. So i'd really like to get my money's worth first. Second, i want to paint them blue first before putting them on

Have you looked at doing nickel plating instead? Powder coat turns to ass when you’re braking as hard as you should on track.

I haven't no, but now i will. Not really an area i know too much about. Also, the plan wasn't to powder coat but to paint. Reason being is that these are new calipers, and i don't want to disassemble them at this point, which i'd have to. Paint is less durable, but it much easier to touch up, and doesn't need caliper disassembly. That's been my thought process, and then to look into power coating once i need to service the calipers.

edit: your rotors looks so damn good

General update:

So it seems the turbo shit the bed again. The fix either didn't work, or whatever was causing the issue is still persistent. At this point i'm quite upset at all of this, because i'm spending more time chasing my tail than moving forward. Doesn't help that i've failed to log using BM3 quite a few times....I don't know how much of this was the wastegate and how much of it was tune, but my partial throttle was garbage. It was so hard to power out of corners. I think it's a little bit of both.

I'm going to err on the side of caution by taking 2 measures

1) not going to fix or replace the jammed flapper again. I'm changing the entire turbo. Itwould've taken too much time to get my hands on another pure800 turbo, so i've placed an order for a DAW Ultra Flow X. Similar spec (62mm) as the Pure800.

2) changing my tune, and moving from using methanol as a power adder to using it exclusively for cooling. Open to suggestions as well. I did reach out to Bend Calibration as a plan b, but they don't do BM3, and at this point i think i'm married to it because i've already picked up the rev2 controller for a little bit later down the line when i go PI.

Other than that the car is a monster. I was only able to do 6 laps out of my allocated 20 before i lost all boost, and i wasn't pushing too hard in that first session because i was still familiarizing myself with that specific layout. Despite only doing 6 laps at 85%, and not having any partial throttle, i still placed 2nd in a very competitive class with much better drivers. The car is just that good.

I was getting a bit of understeer on mid-slow corners. Part of that was because i was carrying a bit more speed than i should've to compensate for not being able to throttle out of corners the way i wanted to, and part of that is def setup related. Here's my current setup, and my proposed plan to remedy the slow-mid corner understeer:

1764663373876-f9.webp

First thing i'm going to try is to reduce the rear sway from full stiff to the middle setting. Will see how that feels. If the issue persists, i'm going to change my front low speed compression from 15 clicks from zero to maybe about 17 clicks (26 clicks total). 3rd adjustment from there would be to stiffen rear low speed compression from 10 clicks from zero to 8 clicks from zero.

This is my first 3 way setup, so it's going to be quite the steep (and bumpy) learning curve for me.

You are having turbo issues so you went and bought a DAW?

смеётся.gif
I can play that game too.....my pure turbo exploded so i bought a different brand turbo. Sounds better this way.

On a serious note though, i don't think it's the turbo's fault. I mean it could be, but it's one of 2 things:
1- defective turbo
2- tune related.

Either way i didn't specifically choose DAW. I'm just not willing to wait another 8 weeks to get my hands on another pure800. The new gen2s have been fine. I need something to carry me through this season. The only other turbo i could've sourced is a pure900, and yeah nah. Anyway, i'm going to eat my words if DAW somehow decide to take their sweet ass time to ship it over to me.

Anyway, at least i finally found out to how to log. Now i just need to wait for the turbo and find a new tuner and get back out there ASAP.

Did you have any codes when it stopped making boost? It's a little frustrating seeing you have all these issues, then just guess at things. Then you have a bunch of people with experience giving you input and it seems to always just turn into an argument.

I do hope you have good luck with moving to a DAW turbo. Hopefully you never have to get support from the owner, because he is a piece of work for sure. He also just changed the name of his company to German Forced Induction.

Not sure if you're referencing something specific with with that argument comment or in general? But in case it's something about me, as far as I'm concerned I genuinely appreciate the input I get. I don't see myself arguing with anyone on that front. I might debate, but there's no harm in that. That's how many people, myself included, learn.

It's definitely frustrating, but I always remind myself that this is something I love, not something I have to do. The moment I take it seriously enough that it starts to bother me down to my core, I need to step back and reassess. I do this because it makes me happy.

Keep in mind that the issue the wastegate/flapper issue was likely there from the start of the session and just progressively got worse. Would make total sense as to why my partial throttle was so bad. Right before everything went to shit I glanced at my canchecked and noticed that I overboosted to 43psi.

Yeah I heard about the DAW guy

Yeah I did pull some codes.

Can you move the wastegate flapper with your hand? I can't remember if you did that or not. It could be as simple as a mis-calibrated Wastegate Actuator.
